Default Shot a Bowtech Defender Today

I finally got my hands on a new Bowtech today to try. It was a Defender with the 28" cams on it. The Birth Cert. was as follows: 70.6Lbs, 28" draw and 350gr arrow was 294 if I remember correctly.

I had the shop owner knock the draw weight to 65lb and he setup a rest and arrow quick and let me at it. First shot impressions were wow! This is the quietest bow I've shot straight out the box. It's quieter than my fully equipped Xtec. The bow did not posses any handshock or vibration either. Absolutely dead in the hand. The balance on this particular model seemed to want to fall back toward me on the shot. Which in my opinion is perfect since I'd have a stabilizer on it anyway. That should even that out pretty well.

The draw cycle is where I'm kinda at a loss personally. I liked the fact that it builds very fast, but I don't know what to think of how it slowly falls back off to full draw. Its probably more of a "not used to it" factor than anything. Also, I noted a very short valley. Even shorter than my cam 1/2 Xtec. But, it wasn't bad at all. Just something I noticed.

Overall, I'm pretty excited about these bows. I'll probably be buying an Allegience once they get one in. Only thing I didn't like, was the cam color. Kinda shiney for a hunting bow.
