I have an older Ultra Max that has the cam that will adjust one inch down in draw length. It is the Z-BBR-HL cam with 3 pegs on it. On the side that the cable guard hooks onto the peg with the letter C on it the string is on the #2 peg. On the other side the string is on peg #3. Shouldn't it be on the same number peg on both sides? And which number will be the shortest draw length? The cam is a 29" draw and I want to set it on 28". Would appreciate any help from the many Mathews shooters on the forum.

Hi, seen your post and when i shot a mathews i called mathews with the same question. on your bow with a 29 draw length #1 will be the longest and #3 will shorten the draw, mathews told me the the string didnt have to be on the same post as the cable, that way you can shorten it 1/4 inch at a time, i hope this helps you and being your looking to go from 29 to 28 just put the string and cable on the #3 post

No, you do not have to keep the string and cable on the same number pegs, but if you start off on the same numbers, and tune your bow, you will have to change your nock point significantly if you change your draw by using different numbered pegs.

accordint to mathews tech that i called and spoke to the string and cable do not have to be on the same # post and the tech said no way in hell it will cause the string to come off the cam or wheel, i have no clue why you get on here all the time giving people false info about stuff.
