drop away arrow rest
Question! I recently set up a mathews legacy with the trophy taker drop away rest.
I shoot this set up awesome in the back yard out to 40 yrds.
Since this season opened in NJ I got tow does...BUT missed three deer all under 15 yrds.
I am hunting about 20 ft. high in my treestand.
Question is Why am I shooting over these deer at 15-20 yrds from a tree?
Thanks for your input!
Oh yeah, I am shooting beaman ICS 400 carbon arrows at 62 lbs.

Are you bending at the waist in order to keep your anchor points the same as standing flat on the ground? This seems to be the most commen reply to the treestand question.
The best thing to do would be to practice out of your stand at tree stand hunting height and shoot at distances varying from 5 yards out to what ever your max range is.
I do this every year before season in order to boost my confidence. My pendulum performed well this year out to 25 yards, it then dropped to shooting ~4" low at 30.

It is not the rest it is youre anchor point you are missjudging your line of sight with the actual distance.
you need to bend at the waist instead of bringing youre bow arm down because this changes youre anchoring point causing the shot to be high
If you would have been shooting up hill you would have missed low.
always move at the waist never move your arms to position for the shot.
