Some sights are very close to the front of your riser and some extend out. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the sights that extend versus the compact sights? Is one more accurate or easier to shoot?

I don't think there is any difference. I perfer the site to be as close to the riser as possable to prevent it from snagging on brush

It also makes your sign pin or reticle look smaller so you aim for a smaller point of the target. LOL.....Its hard to explain, but if you have a sight that extends out farther from the riser your gonna shoot more accurate. I wouldnt recomend a sight like this for hunting though.

An easy way to understand it is to think of how much more accurate a long rifle is compared to a tiny little 38 pistol in your hand. At long distances of course.
