Question re. Hoyt geometry
Out of curiosity I started measuring my bows. On my Bowtech Pro 40 and Darton Cyclone, the vertical center of the bow is the shelf, but on my 2000 Hoyt Accutec and '04 Protec the center is the deepest part of the grip.
Any reason why Hoyts are different? Are there advantages or disadvantages to either style?

RE: Question re. Hoyt geometry
From what I gathered over the years there seems to be somewhat of a disagreement between manufacturers in terms of what the "true center" (vertically) of the bow should be...the grip or the "arrow pass" for lack of a better word. I do not know anything further on the subject.

RE: Question re. Hoyt geometry
I would have figured that it would be the "arrow pass" when thinking about the geometry involved. Wouldn't you want the arrow in the exact center of the string if all was tuned correctly? That way, when the string makes the > shape of being drawn back, equal force both top and bottom would be exerted on the arrow. Then again, tiller adjustment would shift this some and since Hoyt bows seem to shoot well, it must work for them!
Interesting thought though. I'll have to measure my bow when I get home!
