Out of curiosity I started measuring my bows. On my Bowtech Pro 40 and Darton Cyclone, the vertical center of the bow is the shelf, but on my 2000 Hoyt Accutec and '04 Protec the center is the deepest part of the grip.

Any reason why Hoyts are different? Are there advantages or disadvantages to either style?
