finally, care to share how you made your own?
Sure, I got the concept from Walks with a Gimp's homemade press. Mine is made out of plywood, bolts, washers and sections of pvc.

man! that's a great looking press!

i guess you are able to remove the strings/cables and break the bow down? i've seen wwag's press and am curious how to release the ratchet strap to let the bow down. is it that difficult? i know that when i release a ratchet strap, i just trip the release and pull the strap. is there a way to let it out slowly without the bow trying to "fire" (for lack of a better word)?

again, it looks great.

Good looking bow press! I wonder if some all-thread couldn't replace that ratchet strap?

curious how to release the ratchet strap to let the bow down. is it that difficult?
No, you get accustomed to that pretty quick. You have to hold the strap firmly while you gradually release the ratchet.

And yes, you can completely relax the limbs if you want to remove them.

I wonder if some all-thread couldn't replace that ratchet strap?
I don't doubt that something like that could be designed into it. It might be a bit slower, but would probably be smoother. Build it and let us know how it works.
