It seems like everybody is going to the whisker biskit. I talked to a guy this morning who did not have good penetration with the WB. He switched to a normal rest and went all the way through the deer. This was after 3 bounces off the sides. He did a controled test by shooting into the cube. Penetration was poor.
so now I am wondering if the WB is too good to be true.
Thanks
Steve

I can't see a particular rest causing issues with penetration unless it wasn't set up correctly or the bow wasn't tuned to the rest. But that can happen with any product, not just the biscuit.

The biscuit only slows a arrow down like 3 fps. There is no way it can make a difference between a pass through or not. The advantages far outweigh any disadvantages. It is the best HUNTING rest bar-none.

QAD Ultra dropaway for me. Easy to tune, full containment of arrow and very quiet.
After talking to several hunters using the WB, most that I know went to a different rest, because of fletch issues, cold weather, etc.

No offense s-drive...........but this is the kind of stuff that gets all these crazy rumors started !!!
Your buddy had a crap tune job with his WB and when he changed rest his bow ended up tuned better .........and that's it !! If you want to see a passthrough with a WB I'll take some pic's next shot I get and show you what 12-15" of bloody arrow stuck in the ground looks like !!

I have a family member that originally thought the "WB' was the greatest thing since sliced bread. That was until he lost two bucks because of bad penetration, and his dad, a hardcore buck hunter, climbed his case.
No solid proof the penetration issue was caused by the "WB," but he did not have the problem before he used the "WB," and he has not had the problem since he changed rests. Circumstantial evidence, but suspicious.
BTW, just in case it is assumed he had a "crap tune," the family member is a consistent high scorer in 3D competition shooting.

I prefer dropaways as well. The aforementioned QAD, the TKO, and Trophy Taker.
The APA Ultimate Twister really got my attention as well. Neat rest.
As for the penetration mumbo jumbo about the Biscuit, there had to be issues elsewhere. You don't just stop shooting through deer if nothing else has changed unless there is a significant problem somewhere...most likely, tuning related.
