Nowadays there are many cut on impact hybrid mechanicals: & heads with floating blades for the big bone animals shot with light weight bows.

And yes, my bow arm shoulder...another old lifting injury reared it's ugly head again. I didn't get any PT this time...It's happened twice before , but it's been about 8 years since the last time....I've just been taking it fairly easy, and doing some stetching exercises that I remembered. Sucks getting old [:@]

I emailed Chris (5 shot) first thing..we spent alot of time talking at the ATA show and this man knows broadheads inside and out ...I've got his input both for fixed and mechanical, but I like to see what everyone else is having sucess with too. I realize pretty much any of them will do the job and do it well, but there are many newer archjery items that I don't keep up on as well as I would like to these days..like fixed blade heads, so I look to y'all for advice! :D

My initial choices mirror many of the ones mentioned here: Muzzy 4 blades, Wasp Boss SST, Stingers.

I'm still fine tuning my new lower poundage bow and getting arrow shaft selection down, so keep the recommendations coming please! :)

Jeff, I've had great luck getting the Magnus Stingers to fly like darts. Haven't shot a deer with them yet, but the woodchucks are hatin' them. :D

Love my magnus Stingers, 4 Blades for better blood trails. Sorry to hear about your shoulder, hope you heal up quick. I had total reconstruction on mine and it took 4-5 years of healing before I could really feel comfortable with my bow again.[:'(]

Jeff! I don't see where anyone has recommended the Motec G5's at all ,I bought some a few week's ago and I really like them ,the sharpness isn't there but the furile is very solid and I'm sure with a little honing that they'll be great for super good blood trails .The price is a little to the upper level but I think they're well worth it .I hope your injury heals up well for you so that you can get back to the level your acustomed to.

I`m going with montec`s this yr. I was told that all i needed to keep them sharp was some type of a flat sharpening stone? seems to me i could keep using the same broadheads over and over as long as i keep them sharp? and maby save a little money in the long run?

Muzzy Phantoms- they fly great and cut a bigger X than the other 4 bladers.
Nice and Sharp too.
