RE: Everyone please help me pick a fixed blade broadhead this year
I picked up a pack of those Wac'em (yeah I know...gay name;)) "Tritons" and have been very impressed so far. The first head I've ever screwed on and had spin true with no adjustments. Blade sharpness is frightening, durable (I shot a tree and dug it out...just to see, and only one replaceable blade was just a bit jagged, but not bent) and they grouped well with my field points as well. Hair over 1" cutting dia.
Not a chisel tip and not a cut on contact...somehwere inbetween. all for $32 for 4 each so...middle of the road on price and way above average in performance. Take a look... |

100gr. Muzzy, Magnus Stinger, 100 gr.Muzzy Phantom, T-Head, Wasp, RM whatever should do the job. Those Tritons do look pretty good, as do the NAP Crossfire. Lots of good ones that should do the job.
Take care of that shoulder, buddy. [:@] Are you doing PT? |
RE: Everyone please help me pick a fixed blade broadhead this year
I would go with either the Magnus stingers or NAP Nitrons.

Magnus Stinger, 4-blade. If I get to hunt this year, it's what I'll be using.

T-Heads last year but I switched to Slick Tricks this year. So far, so good. They fly well and stay sharp.

Well, I can't say anything from hunting experience, but the NAP Crossfire's I just picked up appear to be the best fixed blade head I've tried. SCARY, sharp out of the box and they fly as well as any I've tried, as good as the mechanical's I was using. They'd get my vote right now.

I've used thunderheads and spitfires in the past. This year I am going to try the NAP Nitrons. I may be mistaken, but I think 5-shot's test of them resulted in a higher score than any other fixed head he has tested. They are priced right too at $24 per 3. Good luck deciding.

You coud use a NAP shockwave without any problems at all. My rig puts out 60ftlbs and I haven't had any bad experiences useing them. any one in the 1 1/4 inch size would work. . There are some two bladed ones that would work also.
From my ground blind this year I am going to shoot the magnus stinger. It shoots thru the mess windows well. |
RE: Everyone please help me pick a fixed blade broadhead this year
I've been thinking about those 85 grain Slick Tricks and putting them on some 5575's. I think they're available next week. The 100's are without a doubt the most forgiving fixed head I've ever shot. Plenty durable, I've put them into concrete with only minimal effect to the ferrule.
