Yea, I've seen it and two things come to mind.
1. I need to get into the "inventing useless gadgets, accessories, and scents for hunters" game and
2. It's a shame I don't have once ounce of inventor running through my veins
It's understandable for hunters to want an edge and the latest greatest equipment and gadgets etc out there but at some point reason has to kick in. Chlorophyl gum, $37.50 a bottle doe in heat? C'mon now sooner or later someone has to call bull sh*t. Hey if scent lok gives you the confidence to get the job done that's great. I think it's pretty much useless after a couple of wearings but if it makes you happy then go for it. But this "we pulled the buck off (in September
) while he was mating and made the doe pee straight in the bottle (so we didn't contaminate it
)" BS has gone a little too far the sad part is that they will sell more of this stuff than they can get thier hands own.

I do believe deer urine works if for nothing than curiosity. I have used it succesessfully many times. I do believe as other people have posted that the things that cause deer to breed are compramized after a certain period time, but deer farmers are Freezing and refrigerating the urine which will prolong its life. Heat is the killer of bacteria and the freezing and refrigeration will prolong this. This is why (if you use something like a sent bomb) the urine beginns to smell sour after about a days use. and if you put out sour urine you will not get deer to come into it at all.
Now BenfromPA posted that the number of does per amount of urine sold is not possible. Well here is hour I think it is done. These deer farmers are using artificial light to bring does in and out of heat year round. In one of the magazines I have at home (I forget which one) even advertises that they are using artificial light. If you look at the size of the deer farms they are getting like cattle ranches. If a person has 100 head of does and bring them into heat 4 times a year that's a h3ll of a lot of doe piss. Now that said do I believe that the doe in heat pee is pure doe in heat not on you life. But I do believe that it is mixed to make the quantaties that they are producing.
Now I don't believe that the doe in heat I use is going to cause a trophy buck to start humping the tree my sent bombs are in but I do beilieve that it will cause enough curiosty to cause bucks to take a second look at it. I have hung doe pee or buck pee from branches above a scrape and see bucks rip it down and try to rip it apart. Last year year I saw my first scrape being made right under one of my sent bombs.
So to say it doesn't work is incorrect. To say that it works as advertised or in all hunting situations would be false as well. To say it will work in the right situation I think it does.

It's actually VA.

What I claim is "Doe in Heat" urine can not be bottled effectively nor can it be "fresh".I base that on biological fact. Not just my opinions.
The only problem with pheromones is that it is a living organism and has a life of 30 seconds to 6 minutes
The pheromones in estrogen can be detected anywhere from 6 to 10 miles away and contains approximately 93 chemical compounds.
The estrogen in the urine will dissipate within 24 to 48 hours rendering it useless and ineffective after that time.
I do however agree that it will stem "Curiosity" in deer. I too have used it and have seen it work. By my staements I am just reflecting on the item described in the original post that we are subject to ignorance when we even concider $37.00 for 1 oz. of deer urine.

They degrade....they don't die
The answer is the pheromones in the estrogen of a hot doe
I too have my doupts about whats in the bottle
- but I have seen Tinks make mature buck go nuts. Most of the time.....nothing.........So I am not a big scent user.

$37/oz. for urine, not this country boy! I might've been born at night, but it wasn't last night! Now I admit they make sense as a cover scent, and maybe will attract a Buck or two out of curiosity, but at those kind of prices I expect more than curiosity, and I haven't seen one yet that will consistently attract Bucks to my stand. I haven't used them all, but at $37/oz. for urine I don't imagine I will!

My shop has a guy who brings in the fresh stuff from some deer farm upstate in OCT...I usually buy a bottle or two of that..it's not terribly expensive (bigger bottles, same general prices), and it has brought a few deer my way..usually young scrubs...
Scents IME are generally hit or miss...with a small excpetion made for FOOD scents...acorn, peanut butter, apple...etc...I've used those with moderate success...
