Default Bowtech Patriot

I have been trying to tune my 04 Patriot and have been having some problems. I will list my setup at the end of this post. Here is what is going on. I get a high tear (1/2") in the paper no matter which arrow I use (400's or 340's). My groups are very good clear out to 50 yards. Arrow flight is generally good, with the occasional wobble. I have noticed that I have some fletching contact with the Trophy taker. I set it up per the instructions, "raising the last 1 1/2" of draw." I have a feeling that this is causing the tear on paper, and is surely tearing up my fletchings. Is anyone else having this problem? Would switching over to a Drop Zone help? Here is my setup:

04 Bowtech Patriot
30" Draw 62 lbs
Trophy Taker rest
Spott-Hog Sight

I have tried the following arrows, all are 29" long with a 100 gr tip:

Epic 340's
Axis 340's
Beeman ICS 400's

Search for Trophy Taker on this forum. I've heard of several people who had problems tuning in that rest. Timing the drop can be a bit tricky from what I hear.

try moving the rest towards the string, or back in other words, not up or down, just a little, then a little more, it helped me with both situations when i used my tt.(draw with a pencil around the contact to your bow so you don't change its angle) also, make sure your cam is timed. also, put your 'cock feather' in the up position. in the end it would be good to get rid of the fletching contact, but the most important thing is your groups - if only 1 arrow is wobbling every once in a while - its either a bad arrow, badly fletched, or more likely you are moving when you release, punching the trigger, releasing your bow arm.... you are causing that and not the setup. if you go to their website it will give you some things to try.

Ok, I played with the timing some and this is what I found out. It works best when the arm is completely upright for about last 4-5" of draw length. I think that I will probably have to use the 340's. The 400's are a little touchy. The speed difference is only a few fps, but it is a little more forgiving. Fletching contact seems to have gone away, but now I have to decide on what to use for an arrow. Thanks guys.
