Detroit whitey, I just sent you an e-mail. I wouldn'y worry about the 7-1/2 brace height. We checked 5 different Outbacks at my local pro shop and the were all anywhere from 7-1/2 to 7-5/8. As someone else said, the ads even say approx. for the measurement.
