Outback New String Question
I bought a new Outback and I had the Bow Shop put on a Berry String when I received it. The specs. on an Outback is 31 1/2 inches axel to axel with a 7 5/8 brace height. With the Berry string my bow measures 31 3/4 axel to axel with a 7 1/2 brace height. Will measurements different from the factory specs. affect the performance of my bow? I would appreciate all information.

RE: Outback New String Question
It says that that the measurment is approximate in all of their ads. I wouldn't worry about it.

RE: Outback New String Question
Your cam timing is more important than the other spec's !! Check to see if your timing holes are lined up straight and are parrallel to your string !!
So happens on my Outback that if my cam timing is perfect ......my bows spec's are dead on 31 1/2"ata and 7 5/8 bh !! But I wouldn't worry if it's off a little !! |
RE: Outback New String Question
CBM,
What holes are those you check. Could you possibly PM me with a pic and directions on how to check? Thanks a lot. |
RE: Outback New String Question
Sorry I do not have any pic's !! Seems like Nub or someone else did......don't quite remember who !!
Anyway .......on Mathews straightline cams.......including the new HP cams , like on your Outback ..............there are two "small" holes machined into the side of the cam .........there is one above the axle and one below ! You should see one of them right beside your cam's code....OBHP**** .........take a straight edge and run it across the lower hole and the upper hole..........your straight edge should be dead on parrallel to your bow string !! If the holes line up with your straight edge headed toward your string......your over rotated !! If your straight edge is headed away from your string........your under rotated !! |
RE: Outback New String Question
Is it possible to be so over-rotated your cam hits the limb? Mines not doing this I was just curious.

RE: Outback New String Question
Rack, I said mine is NOT doing it. I read about how the firsts ones did this but mine is brand new and working flawlessly. I was just curious if you can untwist a string enough so it touches or if you never have to worry about it going that far.
