Question for JeffB ?????????????????
Hey jeff,
I was th eguy having the problem with the hoyt x tec not maxing out at 70lbs. since the cams were switched. My question is since I only shoot about 65 lb and this bow now maxes out at 65 will it shoot better than it would if it would max out at 70 and I shot it at 65. I guess what I am asking is will this bow still shoot good. I remember that someone mentioned in one of my previous posts that you have to pay hoyt extra to get a bow that maxes out at 65 lbs. So, I am asking you this since you were familiar with my problem. Thanks

I know I am not Jeff but...
If you want the bow to max out at at less draw weight the only thing you need to do is to lengthen the power harnesses and use a string that will compensate for the draw length, that is how they do it at the factory, however the A to A will be longer and Brace shorter. you will get good preformance from the bow except a little slower.

If you definitely want to stay at 65 pounds, then as long as the critical measurements (brace height, axle to axle) are correct for the X_Tec with whatever size cam you are using (you can get the specs at the Hoyt website in the tech area), then I would say yes. The limbs will have the proper preload and the bow will probably be a few FPS faster than a 70 pound bow turned down to 65 pounds.
