Default Tech Question Darton

I went to check the timing on my new tundra yesterday and noticed that the proshop had set it up incorrectly (imagine that). The cam positions were set on 1c, and the recommended setting from Darton states that the 1 position should only use a, or b (b is optimal)settings. The c position should be used in the number 2 position. Anyway that's neither here nor there. My question is this, I went to put the bow on my press, and noticed that the roller on the press pretty much lines up on the limbs where a bolt passes though (near the end of the fork). First off, does anyone know what these bolts are for? Second, will it matter if I crank down on the press over these bolts, or should I remove them first? Here is a picture where you should be able to see the bolts.

Don't remove them. They are reinforcement bolts for the limb forks (where limbs are mosst susceptible to cracking).

I've seen guys put the rollers there with no problems, but I don't like to. It can loosen them up/move them.

What kind of press? Is it not adjustable?

Apple, and yes, my press is totally adjustable, but not sure why you are asking me that.

NUB, I'm not trying to be a wise guy, I am really trying to find your point. Please stop beating around the bush with hints, or riddles.

I'm sorry Bob. Why can't you just adjust the press rollers in until they stay away from the bolts? Is it because of the recurve nature of the limb?

Basically, if I wanted to totally avoid the bolts with the rollers, I would have to start cranking it with the position of the rollers around the middle of the "t" and the "o" (see picture) in Darton. That would put an aweful lot of pressure on the limbs. The trick to pressing a bow (and optimal and safest) is to get the rollers as close to the cams without touching them in the full position. I have seen quite a few bows ruined with pressing them wrong. In my case I will either have to crank right over the bolts, or remove them. I pressed over the them the other day and didn't seem to have a problem.

I wish davidmil would chime in.
