Default RE: I need more speed (help)

you might consider a custom string of BCY8125 or Brownell TS-1 with two less strands than recommended.
I've made strings like this several times, and it will work. It also helps to put a smaller diameter center serving on, and then adjust your nocks to fit the new diameter (or use Magnanocks). The other thing that will help, is to make the cable a bit shorter (or twist the one you have). This will put more pre-stress on the limbs and up the poundage. Once again, not something your bow is warranteed for, but it will work. You can easily get another 4-5 lbs draw weight, if you want it. This will increase your drawlength, so make sure you're dealing with a string maker who knows what they're doing, if you don't want a longer drawlength.

By using the lighter string and shorter cable, I wouldn't be surprised if you could gain 20 fps. Of course, this may have a negative effect on arrow spine and flight characteristics. I'm not familiar with your arrow's spine range, but you may end up with a flatter arrow that doesn't fly so well.

My only suggestion would be to ditch the hush kit as well. You might pick up 3-5 fps with your setup. Also make sure that the bow is tuned very well otherwise you will lose some speed there. If I am not mistaken the Libertys are now being shipped with eliminator buttons in shrink wrap both above the single cam and below the idler wheel to optimize the bow's speed potential.

Just to ease your mind, with a 71 lb, 30 inch draw length Liberty and a 430 grain Easton Axis (hush kit installed as well as a medium sized Shurz a Peep, string loop and two tied-in nocksets) I am getting 268 fps out of the bow.

That may be, but there are plenty of carbon shafts that will give him a 300 grain arrow with light points that are appropriately spined. Litespeeds, Cheetahs, Hyperspeeds etc.

My point was that if the setup you suggested goes under 300 grains (since the Speed Pros's are known for producing extremely light arrows) he voids his warranty.

Bowman something does sound wrong there somewhere.I shoot a Justice Vft and I chronoed mine at 70# 27" draw length 351 grain total weight gold tip hunter at 261fps.The liberty is supposed to be about 4 fps faster than the justice and with your 1 inch longer draw you should at least be gettin 280 out of it you would think.I know I am pullin 70 lbs but I am still at the 5 grain per lb limit like yours.have you checked your bow on a scale to make sure it is actually pullin 60lbs?I went to my dealers the other day and pulled back a new extreme vft the BC said 71# max and I told my dealer man that bow pulls smooth for as fast as it is.When we got to checkin it was actually turned down about 1 and a half rounds.Just thought if you have not checked it might look at it cause somethin sure dont sound right.I would think you could get 280 out of that bow easy with a 5 grain per lb arrow.Anyway good luck.

make sure your cams are oiled. also put some oil on the string guard and this can give u up to 5 fps. if u are using a prong style rest that is not a drop away put a thin layer of vaseline on them too.

Do the speed balls actually help reduce string noise also?

You might want to have your proshop check the position of your cam. I don't know where the Bowtechs are supposed to be set at, but I know that on my Mathews, the two small holes on the cam are supposed to be perpendicular to the string. If the cam is out, this could also effect the arrow speed. Also you could pick up some speed by switching to featers. But be carefull not to put yourself below the specs that would void your warranty.
