OK, got the new LX, now I need a quiver to go with. The options: 1.) Kwickee $29.95, or 2.) Matthews $99.95. I had a Kwickee on my Browning, 20+ years ago and thought it a little bulky. But the Matthews is 3x the price.

Thoughts?

I've been using a quickee for years. I always thought there was a better mouse trap, but didn't know what. I take the quiver off when I get to stand, so it has always been a real hastle. Well, with the advice many on these boards, I will be a proud owner of a Cat Quiver III in a month or two. It kills two birds with one stone. It holds all your gear and arrows. Here they are if you have never seen them.

Alpine quivers are IMO as good as they come. A little heavy though. THey have a new one out this year that is supposed to be much lighter and a lot less bulky. I'm in the same boat. I need a new quiver for my Xtec and can't decide. I'm leaning toward the new one from Alpine. Its supposed to be specifically for treestanders as its easy to pop off and mount on an extra quiver holder mounted on your stand.

I went with the Bohning Lynx6 for my newest bow.
It has the double holders (one high, one low) so it will accept both mechanical and fixed heads. The quickies only have this in a 4 arrow quiver.
I prefer to carry 5 arrows when I hunt so I had to find something else. The Bohning is IT.
I usually take my quiver off when I get on stand, but decided to shoot with it on fully loaded just to see what it would sound like- SILENT!
Can't say the same for my quicky.

Been looking at that Bear Claw that muzzyman refers to. Its much lighter than the previous Alpines and comes optionally with a tree stand bracket. Now if I could find it in Mossy Oak Obsession!

I've been using the Bohning Lynx for the past couple of years, and they work well for mechs. Since I take it off as soon as I get in the stand/blind, it does the job just fine. If it were possible that I would need to take a shot with the quiver on the bow (or I was using a permanent quiver), I'd opt for a quieter, more solid, expensive design...otherwise, there is no practical reason IMO to spend a ton of money on a quiver.

Though I personally use the Kwikee 3 arrow quiver I would also suggest the Bohning Lynx quiver as well. Nicely sized, not overly heavy and very easy to use.

Alpine SoftLoc 3 arrow. Nice and compact and the rubber mount isolates the quiver from the bow somewhat. My next choice would be something from Bohning. I like the way they cam-lock their quivers to the mount.

I have always hated the Kwickee's. Never felt like they were secure and quiet. How about the Alpine? I am getting one for my LX this year, and I have heard they quiet the bow because of the rubber mounting bracket.

I like my Mathews quiver, looks really neat, works great, but it is expensive and a little heavier. The kwikee works just as good, and when you take it off, its a lot lighter. Ill stick with my mathews for right now, but if i buy a new bow, ill be goin kwikee. Just my two cents.
