Personally I would and do hunt with a bow quiver. Your arrow's are right there where you need them, on your bow! Hip quivers can be more noisy and in the way. Shooting 3-D, you can't beat a hip quiver.

I prefer a pack mounted quiver. They are had to come by so I went and made my own from an old bow mounted quiver, and attached it to a pack I had that had a hydration system in it. It is perfect for a light daypack and I can even reach my arrows while I have it on. and when on stand I hang it in position so that it can be reached. It worked out real well this year.

i have a bow quiver but i have a hook on my treestand i clip it to when i got my bow i was told to shoot with out it
but i plan to shoot this summer and see if it is ok on the bow
seems easy to move off the tree to draw back with it off

Why were you told to shoot with it off? Makes no sence to me!

I have both. If I'm stalking I'm using a hip quiver. If I'm treestand hunting I use a bow quiver but take it off immediately on getting to my stand and place it in the bracket attached to my climber. If I'm using a hang on I have a screw in bracket that I attach to the right side of my tree as my back is against it.

I've never understood why people say quivers get in the way on there compounds. They got so many other things hanging off of them already. Its nice when everything is intact with each other IMO. The quiver is just like a stableizer to me, its an extra little weight that helps while shooting. When I shot compound I use to shoot allot better with my quiver on then off while practicing. Each to his own I guess.

I gave my hip quiver to my four year old grand son. Too much noise in the woods, and I got a chair for 3D.. I use a bow quiver for hunting and take if off when I get set up. Unless I spot and stalk.

I had a bow mounted quiver and i didn't like it i find that after the release my bow would always want to turn to the left. going to try a hip quiver next season see how it works out![8D] I would recommend you taking it off after getting in your stand.
