The article on the web where the guy talks about KE vs Momentum and does a test on a 5 gallon bucket od sand with a bullet VS an arrow? Talks about trauma as opposed to hemmoraging?
Can't find it anywhere and would like to print it for reference.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?

FPS does mean something outside of 3D. The faster the bow, the less margin for error when guessing the yardage on a kill shot.

Using arrow speed as an excuse for taking a shot on a living creature where you don't KNOW the distance is inexcusable. If your yardage estimation skills aren't good enough for you to tell whether the deer is at 27 yards or 35 yards, then you use the rangefinder or you do not shoot. Period.
If most of your hunting shots are taken within 30 yards, the importance of arrow speed is WAY overblown. The trajectory difference between a 300 fps arrow and a 250 fps arrow is practically negligable at 30 yards. At 30 yards and under, QUIET is far more important than fast. And accuracy always is the prime consideration.

I'm on the side of "FPS mean nothing", at least not for most hunters. I've never missed an animal because my arrow was too slow, even back when I exclusively hunted with a recurve and logs for arrrows. I much prefer the benefits that heavier arrows offer - quieter bows, more efficient energy use, more K.E., easier to pick arrows with a spine on the stiff side and getting better fixed blade broadhead flight.

Anyway, I have yet to find a bow rated at 1,000+ fps. When we do, we can stop worrying about speed and worry more about how to make the damn thing quiet.
