I regularly target shoot up to 60yrds and shoot rather well at that range ,but I won't take a shot at a deer beyond 30yrds This is not because I can't hit him right, but the further you shoot the more room there is for error ,I want to take this animal home not chase him all over god's green earth . An animal will move and a target doesn't we've all heard of deer jumping the string ,so the further the shot the less likely your gonna put it on the money .This is just my 2 cent's .
Fieldmouse think about it before you post this crap. a dead diseased animal can spread the disease on to other's as well.
I'm with straightarrow on this one.here here

It can't be any worst then dozens of deer I see on the side of the road in the few miles on the way to my hunts. Again I never said take a bad shot. Shoot what you feel comfortable with. The Deer population is out of control in a lot of areas.

You may be right in that aspect of dead animal's on the side of the road that may or may not be diseased. Well if I took what you said as wrong how many other's have. Maybe what you said is a misinterpitation of what you meant . But to have total disrespect for these deer who fill your freezer in the fall is wrong. Do you want hunters to be out there taking bad shot's that they shouldn't because they don't care if they retrieve them or not. NO! that's what I thought. But that's how I read your post . I appoligize for reading it wrong and thank's for the correction but hopefully you'll make it a little clearer next time. I don't want to see hunter's showing no respect for the animal's of our passion
