hey just a tidbit guys, but if you buy a copy of bowhunting america you can get a 4 year subscription and a dozen of the easton axis (size of your choice) for 69.95. Not a bad deal. just thought i would let ya know.

Thanks for the tip...I will have to look into that. $69.95 for a dozen Axis is a good deal...though last year you could get that magazine for free...

I still think you can get the magazine for free at pro shops. I think this was a way for them to generate sales. I signed up for my subscription when I heard about the deal, as I wanted to try out the Axis.

Never hurts to have too many hunting magazines does it.

I may be wrong, I have not had a chance to seriously play around with the axis yet, but I believe you can set the depth of the insert just about anywhere you want, thereby making the Rockets fit better. Maybe JeffB or someone else that has them can elaborate?

I talked to EASTON at the ATA. They have a very specific way to glue in the inserts. They send 24 hour epoxy with the arrows. You CANNOT use hot melt. And as far as playing with the depth of the insert I am not sure. They send a tool along to gauge how deep the inserts go in. It is a pretty slick process.
