Default carbons

OK back to the carbon questions. A week or two ago I was told here that a carbon weighed the same as an aluminium I now know that it certainly does NOT as I stated I weighed a carbon it weighed 290 grains complete minus the head. Is this a usual weight for a carbon? Can someone suggest a brand and type of carbon I should use shooting 70 draw weight my draw length is 30"

Depends on the carbon or aluminum. Some of each are heavy or light. With that said, the heaviest aluminum are heavier than the heaviest carbon, but I don't think that is what you are getting at.

There are some carbons that way as much as some aluminums, such as Gold Tip Big Game, Carbon Express terminator, Easton Carbon Evolution, CarbonTech (?) Rhino, etc...

Depends on what you are looking for. Easton ACC Kinetics are a carbon/aluminum composite and heavy to kill two birds with one stone

If you post some specifics about your bow/cam type, how long your arrows will be, point weight, how much your budget and your goal finished arrow weight is I'm sure someone can help you out with suggestions.

Some wimply aluminums do weigh out about the same as carbons. Carbon/glass composite arrows weigh out about the same as some pretty sturdy aluminums. But generally speaking, the ICS type all-carbon shafts weigh substantially less than aluminum arrows of equivalent spine.

Along with the detailed specs, you also might tell us what you intend to accomplish with your arrow selection. Do you want light and fast to pick up a few possible extra points on the 3D range? Do you want heavy for maximum penetration on extra large game? Do you want a large diameter to break lines for indoor spot league? Or are you looking for an all-round arrow for deer hunting and practice? Different arrows for different applications.

Thank you Arthur P and Rangeball for the reply. I shoot a Fred Bear TRX solo cam draw length is 30" draw weight is 70lbs. I want a carbon arrow I can use for hunting that I can practice with also. That will shoot flatter and faster than the current 2315 I am using now.
