Default Arrow question for my son

My 12 year old son has a new Browning compond he got for Christmas and we were wondering if a 2016 xx75 arrow cut to a 25 in draw length shooting at 40 #with a 100 grain point is a safe and ok hunting combo for him. We hunt for deer only. Also if someone could tell us what the grains per pound this combo would be. Thnaks for any info offered
