Default On an opinionative note???

I was at the calgary archery centre and talking about my purchase of the Apex riser with a group of regular's. A gentilmen who's name I do not know, took the time to make sure he ran down Merlin and my purchase. He was a worker for porcupine creek, or a PSE distributor I beleive from what his shirt logo said. I know I am guilty of saying things about companies, some of these comments educated, some not so educated. Recently I made a report on the PSE nitro which wasn't so educated. Got an earful from everyone, and I beleive it even made it back to my coaches which is probably going to make my life really great ( sarcastic tones when I say really great) Anyway's, this peron made sure to say that Merlin had bad warranty, and said what are you going to do when the bow breaks, in front of about 4 other shooters or standers by. I am generally not that out spoken of a person, although you may beg to differ with some of my post's on here. I didn't say anything at all. My question is, why do these people have to run companies down, and make people feel terrible? I don't understand this. My report was only made for one reason, to stick up for a magazine that was getting harped on by PSE shooters. My next question? is there ever really a good time to stick up for your company, and yourself. It doesn't really seem like it to me. It's like being stuck between a rock and a big ole shot gun.
I wish I was older and wiser and had life, people and girls figured out( ahahaha I figured I would throw a bit of humor in here).
Maybe Im just venting, but comment please. Even if it's to give me a smack up side the head. Thank's and good shooting.
Dylan

Many people just aren't happy unless they are bashing others! Some think that it makes THEM look intelligent when they bash others. Just my opinion.

Dylan,

When you get women figured out let me know, could use the advice !!!!! As far as folks bashing things, well sometimes it makes them feel important, sometimes its ignorance. I will advise you to consider the source, and forget it. There are too many good archers shooting Merlin, and other manufacturers bows that disprove the biased opinion of one individual. Heck, I'd bet he'd bash my Dartons too given an option in the same breath! If you think about it he only made himself look and sound stupid. Enjoy the Merlin!

Aim Hard!

I feel that people are sometimes narrow minded about things. Whenever they get to like a certain brand or a certain product, they are hell bent to tell everyone that everything else isnt as good. You do have to consider the source and just take it sometimes.

Its perfectly ok to say that you are an avid fan of a certain company. Mostly becouse you have had confidence or good luck with them. For me, I have a lot of confidence in Reflex bows just becouse I have one and I shoot very well with it. I'm not going to say that they are the best because there are so many other companies that have awsome products that are just as good. Its kind of a pride thing.

55#recurve..don't let it get to you .
The ways of man are simple, mine is better and yours is not.
You will find that is in most things in life. I never even give it a second thought, unless my family is brought in to it.And as for as women go,don't worry about that either just enjoy the ride life is too short.

Dylan-

Sometimes these things come up, and some people you just cannot correct no matter how much proof you have, therefore it is basically a waste of time. BUT, we still feel we have to try for the dignity of the company we are loyal to and as shooters of the same. Good job for biting your tongue tho, doesn't make the situationany easier when you get in someones' face, even tho sometimes there is a fine line you must walk.

I do not try to actually run any companies down, but sometimes by pointing out fallicies it comes across that way. Maybe this person was like that?(trying to give the benefit of doubt here)In Merlin's case, they used to sell directly to customers here in the States, and ran into problems with warranty times due to getting pummelled with everyones' problems from every angle.(tough thing to do from "across the pond&quot THEN they went through a pair of distributors that created a whole 'nuther bees' nest. They learned from their mistakes, just like everyone else does, and now they deal only with selected dealers who they know will truly put in the time needed to make sure their product is handled correctly. They are also no longer selling lower-end stuff, which eliminates alot of the warranty return problems they used to have because they are using the absolute-best materials and craftsmanship, period. No cutting corners to save a dollar, that is where alot of manufacturers run into trouble. I've seen that many times over the years.

I have dealt with virtually every manufacturer on the market at one time or another, and can tell you there are definately some that are much better overall than others to deal with. Don't let anyone run Merlin down as far as service or craftsmanship goes, anyone that has dealt with them knows they are one of the best. Obviously your source was just talking to be heard.

Can't help you with women or life either, I have a hard enough time with both of my own most of the time! Good shooting, Pinwheel 12
