Sheesh, I' ll bet the only way you know the shot was taken (w/ 500 gr) is seeing the deer drop. Those bows must be whisper quiet with that arrow.[:-] <---- (for you Jeff)

Man, My mom was right. I AM special... :D

Kevin, thanks a ton. That' s definitely an eye opener. All of those speeds are faster/more powerful than my Hornet, even the Freedom Cam bows... I assume you only had 1 nock on the string, everything else stock?

Patriot VFT is very close to the Dual cam' s performance. Who' d a thunk. And the Pro 40 Dually looks sweet too. 37.5 ATA isn' t too much for a treestand bow, right? Also can' t wait to put the draw on the Liberty :)

Looks like I' m gonna have some shooting to do. Kevin, when should these bows be available at dealers?

RE: 2004 BOWTECH SPECS

Kevin,

Very impressive speeds. I think Matt is correct, you may have switched the speeds around for the Liberty & Justice by accident :D

Interesting how the DC40 was a bit more efficient w/ heavy arrows vs. the DC PAT, then the DC PAT picked up more on the lighter arrows.

I had been wanting to order an 80 pound Liberty, but may just stick with 70 as those speeds are already near or surpassing my Patriot w/ Infinity cam! [:o]

The BK is SMOKING! Not my cup of tea with that brace height, but for people with shorter draws, whhhoaaa….

Is there any info you can provide on the cam lean (or lack thereof) on the duals, and the new string material?

Also I see you mentioned a pocket “liner” or dampener. I had suggested that very thing on a few occasions to the powers that be @ the home-office, and I’m glad to see it incorporated; should make for a much quieter bow. New Hush kits/silencers look good…more surface area on those “fingers” to absorb & dissipate vibration than last years while overall size remains the same so speed loss is minimal. Very nice. BTW Everyone, I have been informed that the NEW Vibrablocks did not make the photo shoots, those are the originals in the pic I posted.

Thank you again for letting us pick your brain a bit Kevin! [:-]

RE: 2004 BOWTECH SPECS

I' m still thinking possibly Liberty at 80#s. With the pivoting limb cups, you shouldn' t lose efficiency when backing the poundage off, right? Will a 70-80# Liberty backed off to 70# shoot the same as a 60-70# set at 70#? 75# Liberty should push the 500 grain arrow 264, 274 at 80#s... Can' t wait to draw one. At 70#, it' s about dead on with my Hornet.

Based on Kevin' s last post, I vaciliated back to the Pat VFT :)

Actually, I shot a MM instead of a Justice, we have changed the names so many times that I was confused as to the name of the bow I was shooting. SORRY[:' (]
I design bows and then sales & marketing name them, so I get confused sometimes as to what we are calling a certain bow.

I will test a Justice today and report results.:D

RE: 2004 BOWTECH SPECS

Kevin-

I' m curious what was done to the grip.

Any insight on the draw cycle of the Pro 40 DC & Pat DC would be great. I have a bum shoulder and the 03 Pat DC really took its toll on the shoulder this past summer so I had to give it up. I' m a speed freak, but with my shoulder I shoot 60lbers now and I can get 260fps @ 28.5" out of most bows with a 375gr arrow. I would like to push 280fps with one of your duallies (sorry not a big short a-a solocam fan), but don' t want to tear the shoulder apart. Recommendations?

Btw, thanks for everything.

RE: 2004 BOWTECH SPECS

Kevin,

Stop catering to those short draw guys. How about the same test but with 30” draw, and throw the Extreme VFT into the hunt.

RE: 2004 BOWTECH SPECS

I guess the cam lean is still present on the duallys, since no one is stating otherwise:(?

That said, I loved :D my ' 02 single cam patriots and am intrigued by the patriot VFT:eek:. When will local dealers be allowed to start taking orders for these puppies:)?

Thanks Kevin! I will have my order in sometime soon, probably around 2 weeks. Any idea on the shipping time for these babies?? Thanks again,

So what happened to the Tech-29? This was the bow I planned on getting after the current bow season. Seems to be the fastest short axle bow made.

JeffB, Where is my Pro38 dually at????????? ONe of these days or next year I want one. So I guess I will have to buy a 2003 model in order to get it. HUH?

I just hope you missed that one.:(

RE: 2004 BOWTECH SPECS

corb, actually the Mighty Mite is slightly faster, and only 2" longer ATA. The Mighty Might will be a VFT style bow in 04. The Tech 29 was discontinued in 04. Definitely take a look at the new MM.

corb 10-23-2003 08:47 AM

RE: 2004 BOWTECH SPECS

So the Mightly Mite is 316fps at 30" draw while the Tech 29 is 314fps at 29" draw. At 29" the MM is 307. The MM looks more forgiving due to the A2A and brace height but I need to get every bit of speed I can. I can only draw a maximum of 50lbs and currently am using a 45lb draw weight. I have torn the rotator cuff in both my shoulders and have had one operated on already. The other is due. So for a light poundage shooter like myself the Tech 29 seemed the way to go.

So with this in mind, does anyone know of the best bow to get that will yield the fastest speeds with a 334gr arrow at 50lbs max draw weight? This is the minimum arrow weight I will use for hunting so I don' t want to get into a discussion about lightening the arrow to increase speed. I guess I should probably post this query as a new topic.

Brian,
If you lok at the specs, the Pro 40 Dual cam has basically taken that role. Similar brace height, similar speeds and just a touch more axle to axle length. It' s there, they just used the wrong numbers when they named it :D

Corb,

What' s your draw length? I' ve got some 325 grain arrows here with a few :D 2003 model bows that I can set up and give you some estimated speeds when I get the time.

That would be great! I am at 28.5" draw and 50# weight. I think I might wind up going downto a 28" draw. I use a peep, string loop and whisker biscuit. But we can adjust for these things.

In the other thread " fastest bow at 50lbs" I mentioned that it looks like the Extreme VFT or the 2004 Patriot VFT might be my best choices. But the Mighty Mite and Tech 29 look like they might make the grade as well.

Shooter, any real data you can get for me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Question for Mr. Bowtech R&D My cousin will be purchasing one of the 2004 Bowtechs, Due to a shoulder injury he can not pull the heavy pounds nor can he get his shoulder all the way back resulting in a short draw lenght. He is trying to maintain as much speed as possible. If you get a chance could you tell me the speeds of these two bows set up as follows.
2004 Pro 40 Dually
2004 Patriot Dually
Both bows set at 50 lbs 26" draw lenght 330 gr arrow.
Any help would be appreciated. I just shot a 210lb (dressed weight) buck with my 2003 Pro 40 Dually out here in Massachusetts. Also how about trying to get Kittery Trading Post in Kittery Maine to carry your line of bows as they are a HUGE dealer in the Northeast.
Thanks
Bowtech Dually

BowTech Dually, my wife' s Pro 40 target shoots an even 260 fps with a 339 grain arrow while it' s set at 55 pounds and 26 inch draw. I' d bet you could expect a little more than that with an ' 04 Black Knight with the bearings in the new cam;) I' d guess around 275 fps! The new cams are supposed to be smoother drawing than the ' 03 Duallys.

:D

Ok Pat, I am itchin' to get my hands on a 2004 model. November 20th sounds earlier than last year. Was that intentional or did it just work out that way?

Does anyone have a picture of the redesigned Patriot? I have seen the Liberty and it looks great but also would like tosee the Patriot. Does it have the bigger idler and has the riser been designed where it is not top heavy?
Thanks,

Actually, I heard some people already have theirs.....:D

The tentative release date is on or after the 20th of November. So give it at least a week or two for the first dealers to receive their shipment.

The new Patriots will not be equipped with the Freedom Cam....which is the eccentric that comes with the large idler wheel. As for the riser.....maybe Pat can answer that though I beleive he is out attending one of them fancy Bull-Riding events.....:D
