2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Salutations Gentle Readers!
I finally managed to pry some info out my friend who works @ Bowtech in the Sales Dept. I also weaseled my way into getting permission to post it since “BowtechShooter” is at a few PBR shows this week., sorry Pat :D This is just a “teaser” though…not full specs…I’m not THAT good ;):D There are at least two brand new bows: One is called “Liberty” the other is called “Justice”. I know Frank will now be a happy camper when he reads that.[:@]:):D For all of the Bowhunters who have said you are not worried about raw top end speeds, but you are worried about having super smooth drawing, super smooth shooting, super quiet hunting bows, BowTech listened and now you have no excuses not to buy one![:-]. These two new bows will have a brand new ultra-smooth single-cam design with a 4” idler called the Freedom Cam. IBO speeds are in the low 300’s (still pretty damn respectable AFAIC). I don’t know any specs, save that the Liberty will be similar in measurement to this year’s Patriot SC. I have no idea about the Justice…he wouldn’t budge on that, dagnabbit. …[:@] I came up w/a new slogan for BowTech, BTW:Give Me a Liberty or Give Me Death :D;) (I know… that was really bad, LOL…)[X(] Several bows have been dropped, but I don’t know which ones. The two bows above as well as the new Patriot and “several other” (his quote) bows in the line are all being built on new riser designs with pivoting limb pockets! WOOHOO! I asked about dual cams, the I-cam, all kinds of things..…Basically he said that there’s quite a bit of other exciting products/refinements/changes for 2004, they still have the speed market covered, and all will be revealed in the coming weeks… The following is something my little brain figured out for itself :D Due to Bowtech’s Partnership w/ the PBR, naturally they decided to work with another big PBR sponsor and the 2004 bows will be sporting a brand new coat of paint courtesy of Toxey Haas and the Mossy Oak crew. Some bows will have Obsession (COOL!), and some will have MOBU. Sounds to me like a total upgrade of the entire line! Also sounds like as per usual, BowTech continues to listen to it’s dealers, customers, & potential future customers. If they have refined the duals too, I don’t know what the hell I’m gonna order :D . I’m as giddy as a 10 year old schoolgirl! ;) :D Looks like another year where I' m gonna want at least 4 or 5 bows from BowTech. Yeesh... |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Pppplllleeeeeeasssee.
Give Me a Liberty or Give Me Death :D Seriously though, chalk the Liberty up as my Bowtech bow for review this year. I will do it right after I review the Hoyt ViperTec. [:p] :) |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Did you really Frank? LOL. Sorry ' bout that....I stand corrected :D
|
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
When will we know about the speeds of the 2004 BKs?
|
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
I don' t know Vic...as soon as the specs are released..I suspect it will be soon.
|

RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Jeff what about" Liberty and Justice for all" .:D I can hear you guys now" I pledge (blind) allegance to Bowtech and the company for wich it stands...One nation under bowtech with liberty and justice for all.......:D:D:D

RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
I hope they will tkae the DC Pat and use the shorter limbs, dropping the BH and A to A by an inch which will give you a DC Pat with an IBO of close to 350. With all of the other changes you have mentioned, that would make an awesome bow.
|
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Dang Jeff,
Just when I get my thought process headed in a particular direction, you provide this bit of information. Please do not tell me I need to sit on my hands any longer. My dealer is expecting a restock shipment by Friday. I figured one of the VFTs had my name on it. I am not sure my old shoulder or my mental stability (what little bit there is left of that) can wait much longer. As always, thanks for the insight. Bill |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Bill, this time of year is not the best to buy a new bow unless you really really need one. Too many new ones coming down the pike. Worst case, if you can wait, you might get a clearance price on the ' 03 VFT :)
|
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Well ok Jeff looks like the solo cam boys are taken care of now how about a snippet for us Dual cam boys;)
But it does look very promising for BT in 2004. Kevin asked the question on what everybody wanted and it looks like he has given them what they asked for. I for one dont know of any other company to do that. |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Stupid question... Do the dual cams have a draw stop, and if so, does it provide a solid back wall?
|
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
It sounds like BowTech has some great things in store for 04. My closet is going to be full soon. I like my 01 & 03s well enough to keep them. Now I need to make room for some 04s. What a terrible problem to have.:D
Can' t wait for the next installment, Jeff. Hint......hint!;) Rangeball, the Duallys don' t have a stop as such. The modules act in that capacity. The wall is very solid, though you can over-draw the bows. But you can definetly feel and shoot easily from the wall. |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
All,
Confirmed: New dual cams. Bearings top and bottom. Freedom cam will also have bearings top and bottom, which I forgot to post originally. Cajun, LOL. I like that. Maybe a new sig? ;) Range, Heh if you must know, Kim lost her job over the summer so money has been tight. She’s working again though and we are getting our finances back in order, so A/C/C’s shouldn’t be a prob next year If I spend wisely otherwise :D. Plus I said 4 or 5 bows I WANT, not necessarily I will buy :D I must admit, it’s gonna be really tough for me to figure out the two or three I will end up getting. Likely a DC PAT, and a Liberty. But I’m waiting to hear what the specs on the Justice are too. That bow has me the most curious. As for the draw stop. The 2003’s have an elongated straight cable track at the back end of the draw. It provides a very solid wall as is (not as solid as an I-cam though..nothing is that solid). I don’t know if the 2004 duals will be any better (I don’t see the need really ona dual), but I’m sure they won’t be any worse. Bill, Yep.I figured this might throw a wrench in your plans. This is a tough time of the year as Range said with all the new models coming out. I think you should go shoot that VFT and then contemplate your choices from there. |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Plus I said 4 or 5 bows I WANT, not necessarily I will buy At this time, although I don' t need a new bow, I' m really interested in seeing what Bowtech, Darton, Diamond and Merlin, in no particular order, come up with. If they someone builds the bow that 500 fps alluded to above, that could well be the bow I' d need... :D |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
OOOOOOHHHH Man! ---- I' m going to get in trouble just mentioning another new bow! It' s amazing that we' re getting what we asked for!!! I mentioned the bearings in the duals to reduce friction and then BAMM we got ' em!!!!! Frank comes up with a cool name for a new bow model and BAMMM we got it!!!!! Customers wanted smoother drawing and softer shooting bows and BAMMMMMM they got it!!!!!!
Right now I need to write myself a note and post it on this computer monitor. Feed the dog, Check the mail, Say hi to the wife Remenber to take my medication:D What wishes will they answer next!!!!! Work will be a little more enjoyable today[8D] |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Jeff
Confirmed: New dual cams. Bearings top and bottom Come on man the suspense is killing me here[:-] |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Jeff and Range,
I know this is not an opportune time to be shopping. However, certain circumstances with existing equipment lead me there. And, I have been waiting for a local dealer for at least a year. Perhaps one bow now that Mama knows about, and one in a couple of months that only Santa and I am aware of? Geez, starting to sound like Jeff, Range, pdq and others on here. Guess is should be ok, since I sold one last week, and the other is at the shop with a sticker on it. 2 bows now, both getting sold, 2 new ones soon. Makes perfect sense to me. Can' t understand why anyone would question that logic.:) |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Well, now that I know ALL the facts, BUY man, BUY!
:) |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Good news - the bows sound good:D - Can' t wait to check them out.
Do the new bows come with cable adjusters[>:]:D I want a DC PAT in 80% Letoff:D |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Range,
Thanks for the permission. I will certainly mention this thread in the divorce proceedings. |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
You guys are killing me, I dont want to hear any more!;). First i was just going to get a new hunting bow now it looks im going to have to get a new 3-D bow too!:DThen you started with the ASAT 3-D, had to get some of that ( NICE STUFF), then it was ACC' s, havent got those yet. WHATS NEXT?:D. Well, I guess thats why we all work for a living.:D:D:D
|
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Geez how did I miss out on all this information!!??[:o]I feel so out of the loop at times.:(:D
This stuff sounds awesome.......I guess Kevin really wasn' t blowing smoke when he said that he was going to use our suggestions in the new designs. That' s way too cool. I love the sound of that new " Freedom" cam design. I think you can probably put me down for a new Liberty as well. Good speed combined with a truly SMOOTH drawing cam and super quiet is just screaming new hunting bow. I can' t wait to see pics.......You had better not be holding out on us here Jeff.[:@] New risers, camo , pivoting limb pockets and the new cams sounds like enough ammo to justify some new purchases wouldn' t you say? Did you hear anything about the grips? I really liked the 2003 grip style and would hope to hear that it has been extended to the 2004' s? |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Range,
No problem. I didn' t think you were being an A-hole, LOL :D Bill L, Sounds like good logical thinking to me :D I mean if Noah had pairs of everything why can' t you? Right? Right! [:-] Rack, Only on the single-cams ;):D Dennis, See my response for Bill L :D Matt, Uhm...the fact that they are not bows I already own is justification enough for me to buy them, though that doesn' t seem to fly with Kim.[:@] I really don' t know what her problem is [>:] All, Sorry no pics are available...yet [:' (] Believe you me I have tried! I will be getting some more info " soon" though. Will let y' all know. :D |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
What does Mossey Oak Obsession look like?
Thanks! |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Can' t wait.....Can' t wait.... Can' t wait..............!!!!!!!!!
Just got a BowTech dealer in town and went and checked them out WOW!! And now New AND Improved. Can' t wait to see them. Gonna be real hard to chose just one. JeffB did your source on the inside say anything about a cam and a 1/2 / CPS type of daully? This dealer seemed to think they were coming out with something of the sort. Any idea when the NEW ones will be out??? I NEED one . Thanks for all the great info!!:D :D |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Oh Crap:D;)I guess I am in the same boat as Dennis. There is no way that I can buy just one of the Bowtechs after hearing all the goods on the new models.
Sounds like they are really listening to the consumer. I wonder if they are going to come with grip options for the shooter That likes a little thicker grip. That seemed to be the big area of concern at my shop when guys were talking about the new Hoyts. I cannot wait to get my hands on that Liberty w/ that freedom cam. sounds smooth as silk. I guess I will be in divorce court before the year is over after explaining to the wife about my 3 new bow purchases. Anyone looking for a roomate[8D]:D:eek: Bowtech seems to have done it once again. |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Yaaaaaaaaaaaahooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like a winner of a year for Bowtech! Has anyone heard anything about a good spot bow from Kevin yet? Just curious, lots of us spotties were looking forward to a good spot bow this year from Bowtech.
|
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Cloud,
I have not seen a pic of it except for on the new PSE bows. Looks pretty on them. Sl, No hybrids. Unless one was willing to drop both the singles and duals in the line, offering a hybrid would not be a wise business decision. You' d basically have to " trash talk" your other designs to promote the hybrid. Grant, Good to see ya over here!:) How' s that tatoo? :D No spot bow that I know of, but it' s entirely possible the revised Pro-40 will actually measure 40" which would make a decent indoor bow. But I don' t know the specs yet. I' m going to try and post some more info this evening. |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
I' ll add my .02 real quick...
Ya' ll are gonna crap when you shoot the new bows. The Liberty is definately the smoothest drawing and smoothest shooting bow I' ve shot to date... (and no I haven' t shot every bow out there but I' ve shot quite a few) :D All the new cams are awesome... Nuff said... The new limb pockets, Ditto... The partnership with Mossy Oak is awesome as well... I' ve seen the samples on our bows and it looks good... Real good... But that just MY opinion... I' m a little biased ;):D BTW, If anyone' s in the Columbus, OH. area, come on by the PBR event at the Nationwide Arena this Fri (10/17) and Sat (10/18) nites... Stop by the BowTech booth and introduce yourselves... Later all, I' ve got a show to get to...:D |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Cloud 9,
Check out http://www.pse-archery.com/Catalog/Compound/Venom.htm |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
I really wasn' t planning on buying a new bow this year but, I may have to. My BKII doesn' t have ball bearings and its all ball bearings these days!!:D No pivoting limb pockets either. Looks like Christmas is coming early to my house. WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
|
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Hey Jeff! Tatoo' s pretty much gone by now. LOL Yeah, I' ve been over here for quite a while, but I' m not on here nearly as much as all my other boards.

Welcome aboard Mrs Bowtech RD.
I hope your keeping Mr Bowtech RD under control;):D |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
JeffB and Walks with a gimp.........My husband has been very busy this year filling your request and I know something you don' t. LOL:D:D
I will tell you that our sales staff had a chance to shoot and test the 04 line.....After they picked their JAWS up off the floor....the comment was " This is by far the biggest ADVACEMENTS and SWEETEST bows KEVIN has ever designed" .:) The " LIBERTY" that he has at our shop (his castle) has a 7.5" brace, extremely smooth draw and break over, it shoots 315 fps @ ibo. YES for all you dual cam lovers there is a big IMPROVEMENT in the draw, reduced vibration, shock and noise level, higher brace heights, and YES, FASTER SPEED!! AS for all you women out there I shot a 03 VFT this year, but I will be shooting a 04 " JUSTICE" [8D]. I guess you all will have to ask my husband if he gets the bigger HOG this next year!!!!! Maybe Kevin' s bow the " 04 Samson Patriot" [>:] will bring home a prize!! BE SAFE!!! Stacey Strother:) |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Stacey.
You know that this is totally unfair[&:] you getting to play with the new toys before we do:D Now just where is the shop I just might have to take a drive on Monday;) so I can play with some of the new toys[:o]:D |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
AUSIE-GUY
YES I do get to play with MY HUSBANDS TOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!;) Texas is a big state to just go driving to my husbands CASTLE, let me save you a trip, I' M stingy, these are my TOYS [>:]ya' ll can get your own SOON!!! Stacey Strother:) |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Stacey.
I was all set to invite you over to my lease too so you could get a bigger Hog than Kevin this year too:D Guess I will just have to wait a little longer to see the new line up that is unless you want to email me a couple of pics[>:];):D |
RE: 2004 BowTech Sneak Peak
Ausie-guy
How big are those hogs and where is the lease?????????:):D Yeah, Stacey still talks trash about how her hog was bigger than mine.:D:D I think you will really like the 04" line of bows, I tried to really make the draw force cycle smoother with an easier break over. Oh, and made them faster by a few fps in the process. I had asked for the qualities people wanted in a bow, and took the responses to heart when designing the 04' bows. We have three new risers for 04' and three new cams also. I guess you can wait about 2 - 3 more weeks and see a catalog. We' re trying to have bows ready to ship by mid to late Nov. Kevin Strother |
