The last two years I have tried the Montec G5s. I realy like them. They fly straight and so far they have worked great on Whitetails. Before that I used Zwickey Delta' s 11/32s,

I haven' t officially chronoed my latest set-up....
Based upon the way I had it set-up vs. now I' m guessing my 373gr arrow is doing about 295fps.

geez guys im shooting only 51 lbs of KE.. I' m shooting 55.. if I move it up to 60 will my KE go up?? ill also have to switch arrows from 3555 to 5575

Bmott, I used to like those heavy draw weight bows too. Heavy draw weight, hard cams and long draw length really does pack a punch.

Back in the late 80' s, before IBO came out with the 80 pounds max rule, I had a 33" draw Martin Cougar XRG that I shot full length 2419' s out of, set around 100 pounds. Those arrows weighed right at 700 gns. Never did chrono the thing but I guess they loped along around 230-235 fps. It was a pretty quick setup for that time.

That' s the only bow my former club ever officially banned from the range. They got upset the day I hit a brand new McKenzie deer in the 10 ring and broke it. The impact snapped the legs. (Maybe that' s why the later models had their legs beefed up.)

My best field archery scores were set with an 80 pound Hoyt ProVantage Tracer. Liked shooting my 120 pound longbow back then too.

Now, with bad shoulders and arthritis, I' m doing good to draw 60 pounds.[:' (]

Currently set up at 66 pounds my Pat Dually does 254 fps with a 540 grain arrow for 77.38 ft. lbs. K.E. It' s done as well as 83.97 ft. lbs. K.E. at 71 pounds and shooting a 581.4 grain 2317 xx75 at 255 fps. 29 inch modules.

I had one of the old Hoyt Pro vantage hunters set at 85 lbs., I used it as a backup when I had one of my Grand slams limb split. The Hoyt couldn' t shoot the 2419s like the Grand slam did. I actually had to drop down to 2317s in order to keep the trajectory close. I had my Grand Slam chronographed back in the middle 80s when i shot 2419s at 720 grains. the bow shot 240-245 consistently. The bow was about 97 lbs. My old Graphlex shafts also shot real nice.
I know about arm trouble[:@] from shooting heavy bowss. i had an intrapment of my ulna nerve in my left arm (elbow) from the years of shooting. I had to give up a compound for years because of the hand shock coming into my elbow actually caused me to drop the bow from my grip. Last year was the first in over 10 that i shot a compound again, (Mathews Conquest II) These new compound riser designs are real nice.
