I have a pair of Nikon Team Realtree binoculars that are one year old. Late last season I noticed that I was seeing a double image when looking through them. I don' t recall dropping them, anyone know what the problem might be? Can they be fixed?

Assuming you have them focussed properly (don' t laugh, many people don' t do it right) there definately is something wrong. Nikon will fix them, no problem. THey have a no-fault policy on their optics. See if a dealer/repairman is near you before sending them in to the factory.

If you' ve checked the diopter then Danny45 is right.
The barrels are out of alignment, and that is likely something that the factory needs to fix or replace.
It' s a fairly common problem, and often is subtle enough that the only thing you notice is the eye-strain related headaches from long hours of glassing.
Anyway, get ' em fixed.
