Default change in size of fletch

I am having a different group at longer distance. I read that I need to change the size of my fletch being a shorter fletch with some helical effect. Will this effect the good groups at shorter distance i.e 20yds. My groups get wide and to the right at 30yds. Is this the correct change needed? thanks for all............Mitch

I doubt it' s the correct change. If you were talking 60-80 yards as longer distance then maybe. But 30 yards isn' t long enough to make the kind of difference you' re talking about. It' s more likely a centershot problem, wimpy arrow spine, form problem or a sight that isn' t plumb to the bow.

Tell us about your setup. It might be easier to recommend a fix if we knew where we' re starting from.

setup: mathews mq1 29in 68lb 80%letoff
Carbon Express 300cx 100gr field point
release
cobra accent sight/I beleive my whole window would have to move for the adjustment to correct at 30yds. I dont think I can move just my 30yd pin.
gfk ez tune/quick tune which ever 100 or 1000.

Spine looks fine, according to the chart. I' m betting it' s centershot. I' ve had times in paper tuning with single cam, single track bows where I' ll hit a sweet spot with centershot way off to the right (right handed shooter) and get a perfect hole. But when I sight in at 20, all the other pins hit off to the right.

If I remember correctly, Mathews recommends starting out by setting the centershot somewhere around 13/16" from the sight window.
