When setting nocking points do you experienced setup experts use a bow square
or do it BY EYE.?
Another question. With the bows you shoot, how much tolerance do you generally have with your nocking point before you run into tuning problems. ?

For a given bow, release style, tiller and arrow/nock diameter, there will be one exact best nocking point. The more you deviate, the greater the inconsistency of your groups will be. A good starting point is 3/8" over. Measure with a bow square. You can get close by eyeballing it, but it' s pure luck if you get it just right. In order to tune properly for your own setup, you' ll just have to experiment a bit. By doing so you' ll find your sweet spot through trial and error. Once you' ve got a setup that works JUST RIGHT, take all measurements. Brace height, nock point, tiller measurements, poundage, etc... unless, of course, you enjoyed spending all that time doing that and want to go through it again the next time you change your string or cables.

Siskyou,
Do you mean the Fuzion cam in general, or SIII specifically? I haven' t tried group tuning my Altitude' s yet, but maybe I should. I usually go for bullet holes and leave it at that.
I believe the Scepter III is one of them

I use a bow square and set the nock 1/4 over 90 degrees if I have no idea where to start. I say that because if I have to put a new string on and on the previous string I have the nock point set at 3/8 ths over, then I will start with 3/8 ths over on the new string. I ussually will not go under 1/8 over 90 or over 3/8 ths over 90 degrees for various reasons. If I need to do that I may make other adjustments like change the arrow tip weight, change the arrow spine, check my tiller (make adjustments as needed).
