It does require tension on the cord to operate properly, which is similar to the QAD & Ripcord.

You can cock it in the up position, but if what I was seeing from the rest is correct it has to have at least some tension on the cord to fire. Also on a slow let down it would remain in the up position.

The tension Dan's referring to isn't enough to affect cam timing, let-off, draw weight, etc.
