Kotklegg, I hate to burst your bubble but ..........no way !! Maybe you and Vodek and Formula1 all have the same chrono' s ! :D

I have an LX @ 30" 80% 74# shooting a 393 grain arrow 296 fps with a WB rest and just a tru-peep & string loop.

297 fps on 60 # with a 400 grain arrow isn' t going to happen .............look at all the other LX posts on this forum ......all are within a few fps of what they should be, compared to the IBO rating, but yours . It doesn' t make sense ??? Unless your calling the spine number 400 ........400 grains and you actually have a much lower weigh arrow somehow ? Like a 320 grain arrow - Maybe ??

Several good suggestions here...the best one is to shoot several ones and pick the best for you. I tried Hoyt, Botech, and Mathews. I chose the Mathews Legacy even over the LX because it felt and shot best for me! And after all, I am the one paying for it.[:-]

Well I am a big Mathews fan but 60# getting 297????/....Mine is a 29 inch draw and it' ll do that at 67 plus only......And going to 65% letoff well slow it down....Cause it is a shorter draw in that configuration.....Big Country...i have sinced changed to X 7' s 2212' s...I dont like that High poundage either...:D

Little to no recoil, very smooth draw, whisper quite, comfortable to hold, and fast,
thats why I just bought the Mathews Legacy. I did try several different bows and the Legacy felt right for me.

I suggest you do the same and shoot both several times, one will stand out over
the other. What feels right to one person may no feel right to you.

Either way, both are quality bows.

Well I took my LX to another dealer today, and shot it through their chronograph and it was still 297 fps. but they said it was set on 70 pounds. That made me mad, and made me feel stupid at the same time. I' m sorry guys! I was going by want they told me at the pro shop where I bought the bow. At least I was telling the truth has I knew it. Needless to say, I' m not doing business with them again after that. So let me get this right once and for all. My LX shoots 297 fps with a 29" 400gr ICS Hunter, 30" draw, 80% Let-Off, set on 70 pounds. I still think that' s pretty fast for a smooth shooting bow! Regards, kotklegg[X(][>:]:([8D]

Kotlegg,

No apologies needed, I assumed someone somehwere was misinformed, which unfortunately was the case. I' d be a bit miffed at that one dealer as well.

I did not get a chance to go to the shop (and they are closed today), but your numbers sound very close to what I have seen perviously for a 70/30.

At any rate, The LX is a smooth, fast bow, enjoy it! :D

Kotklegg, Sometimes you got to watch them. I witnessed a scam with a dealer. When customers wanted speed and didn' t know a lot about archery. He would chrono their bow with a super lightweight arrow 4 grns per pound and nothing on the string but a peep and tied nock......and tah dah = 320 fps out of a 310 IBO rated bow. Then when they were happy , he would really set it up and give them the correct arrows ..........and none of them would ever ask to chrono them again. What do they tell people ............320 fps !! And as far as they know, they' re right !!

Just gave me more desire to learn all I could !!

Good luck .............I know your going to enjoy that bow !!;)
