I shoot a Q2XL and absolutely love it, finally got it all set up with CXL 250s and close to 5grs/lb and getting 273fps with a 27" draw length and at 66lbs. But anyways, I heard the other day that Hoyt came out with the cam and a half so that they dont have to pay royalty to Mathews, since all companies that produce single cam bows have to pay Mathews royalty. Anyone heard any such thing? Makes sense to me if it' s true since Mathews has a patent and makes other pay them that Hoyt wouldnt want to do that...

Since I HAD to get a new bow after 13 years with my old one, I tied the Mathews Legacy, the bowtech Patriot Dually, Hoyt' s Dynatec and Razortec and a Darton bow as well. The Razortec had the best feel of all of the ones I tried and no flet recoil or hand shock whatsoever. The draw was smooth and my shooting improved dramatically. I am glad I made this choice.

I just bought a Mathews LX, and this is the most awesome bow I' ve ever shot in my life time. I' ve owned a PSE,Pearson,Bear, and a Mathews Ultra Max. The LX blows them all away by far. I can group arrows in the bulls eye at 60 yards, and yesterday I hit a bulls eye at 100 yards. That 100 yard bulls eye might have been a mistake, but it felt so easy to do cause that LX is so smooth and forgiving. If any of you are looking at the LX, and wondering what kind of bow it really is; go buy one and find out for yourself. It will be the last bow you' ll ever own. Regards, kotklegg

OK guys, I just got through reading the rest of these posts, and I had to post this one. I shot my new Mathews LX through the chronograph with a 400 gr. ICS Hunter and it was smoking at 297 fps. with a 30" draw. I would like to know of any bow that can top that. Put that in your anti-Mathews pipe and smoke it bud! kotklegg

Kotklegg-

What poundage are you shooting that 400 grain arrow at?

Actually, there are many bows that will shoot a 400 grain arrow at 297 with a 30" /70.

My Pat Dually at 29" , 71 pounds shot a 400 grain arrow at 294. And also did it with almost an inch and half more brace height. W/ a 30" draw it would likely be in the mid 3-singles.

My Hoyt CyberTec (Same brace height as your LX) shot a 400 grain arrow at 290 FPS. Again 29" draw, 71 pounds. A 30" Draw bow would put it at least 297 FPS and probably more.

While the LX IS a fast bow, there are plenty of designs that will do that these days.

Now what was that about a pipe?

My 29" , 70 lb Bowtech Extreme VFT is getting 306 fps with 370 arrow, and still generating 301 fps with my sons 392 grain Beman.

I' m not sure I want what' s in that pipe!!!:D

pinwheel12....mine was on 67# at 29 shoot 297.......Is it the fastest .NO...I know I know it has a short brace hieght...:D...But has long has I am pleased with it..thats all that matters...;) But my biggest problem was getting it to shoot 280' s (ASA)...If I had it to do over I would have got a 60# max..
