RE: New String
Some of the cheaper string makers I can think of are: Vaport Trail and Bucknasty. H&M bowstrings are said to run about the lowest for a quality string -- but I have no clue about them -- never shot them. Go on AT and do a search for custom strings. You will find about every string maker out there and you can call and do a price comparison.

RE: New String
WC, Vapor Trail, Dakota...all are pretty good strings. In the end you get 'what you pay for'...mostimes!
If however you're looking to change strings on a Bowtech, I would recommend going back to the Bowtech factory strings, they're just as good as any good string out there. BUT---of recent I've noticed the serving on some Bowtech bows are separating, I HOPE the guys at Bowtech are aware of this. BTW, there's a guy that engineered the 'Little Jon Bowstring Jig', Philip McMahan, met him a year ago at the ATA Show. His main business is selling hisjigs, but you can get him to build you Ss' & Cs'. They're prestretched to 300# and then served. I can say once installed on the 1st shot the peep stays in the same position, from minus 20 C to +32C. I would suggest using the BCY 452X---you'll get an easy 2 years of 'hammering'. |
