Take a look at how Swamp set it up.

Its not getting put on unless I can find someone who puts it on exactly like that -- no worries there

Good.

Maybe SC should start his own shop. He could specialize in installing QAD rests.

I am trying to find someone that would sit in the stand with me to run the camera, but that would have been a waste so far this year because I haven't had a shot. I saw one, but he saw me first. It was a huge 8 pointer. They don't get that big by being stupid.

how many deer you see total this year?

Black Stick 11-20-2008 07:19 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

That is the only one that I have seen when I was in the stand this year, and I have been in the stand a lot. I see plenty when I'm driving.

ur bow season over?

Black Stick 11-20-2008 07:25 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

No, it goes till the end of the year. However, it is getting hard to go out in the cold. I am having trouble drawing my bow back because I have so many layers of cloths on to stay warm. When I do get it back, I can't touch my nose to my peep, again because of the layers. It sucks.

yeah i feel you. its been in the 18's and 19's here for about a week and it helps practicing shooting ur bow with all your clothes on(but im sure you know that:D)

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

Dang, maybe I am just being a wuss. It hasn't been that cold up here. Low 20's is all and if I was moving around, that wouldn't be bad at all, but in the stand, it really gets to me. I won't be going out very much anymore this year. 2 weekends at the most. Then I'm going to sent my bow away to get pimped.

mossbergman11/OH 11-20-2008 07:57 PM

ur bow pimped?????????????:D

Black Stick 11-20-2008 08:03 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

I am going to have the cams, the sight, the whole quiver (not just the top), the rest, and the whole stabilizer (the tip is currently black) done in Mossy Oak Obsession. Then I am shipping it off to Terminal Velocity Archery with a fresh set of Vapor Trail VTX strings to get super-tuned. Might get an additional 10+fps out of her when she finally comes home.

Black Stick 11-20-2008 08:04 PM

I like to have the coolest stuff.

mossbergman11/OH 11-20-2008 08:06 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

man how much it costing? sounds cool though

Black Stick 11-20-2008 08:12 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

We haven't finalized the cost of the camo yet, but I'm guessing $200 for that alone. The Vapor Trail VTX strings and cables cost about $100, and the tune is about $100. That doesn't include shipping it out to Color and Camo, which is in western, Kentucky and to Terminal Velocity, which is in Ohio (I think). So, $400 for the work plus shipping.

Black Stick 11-20-2008 08:16 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

Here is a picture of a bow that was done tip to tip like mine will be, only in Mossy Oak Obsession instead of Predator.

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

Jees! If you're paying $200 to gain 10 fps, I wonder if I can get paid $200 for dropping that much off my DXT?:eek:I'm actually building a heavier string right now to slow it down, gain some stability, quiet it and gain more durability out of it (UltraCam material instead of that crap Zebra string).

Black Stick 11-20-2008 10:41 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

I tried Zebra on one of my old Hoyts. It is absolute garbage.

Black Stick 11-20-2008 10:45 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

BTY, it's about $100 for the tune. I need new stings and cables because I made the mistake of waxing them in an old cloth chair. The chair fibers got into the wax and have pretty much ruined the strings.

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

ur just getting the camo for kicks? isnt your bow already in camo? if u want speed get the pse x force

Black Stick 11-21-2008 04:14 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

Yes, it is already camo, but the accessories are not. Imagine every inch of my setup in Mossy Oak Obsession.

I shot the x force and liked the 82nd better. That is why I say that you need to shoot everything before you buy. You can't just look at the stats and assume that you will like the way it shoots. That would be stupid.

i know i wanted the pse whitetail obsession but i tried lots of bows and like lights out and diamond justice best. and lights out was cheaper

Black Stick 11-21-2008 04:36 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

The lights out is the best starter bow hands down IMO.

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

I really don't know how you can compare them. They are totally deferent rest and work in deferent ways. It just depends how good you want to shoot. No rest under the arrow on the shotwill be the best rest. That way there isno interference with the arrow, no pivot pointand the movement of the riser will have no effect on the arrow to make a bad shot.

yeah i figured out im sticking with my WB,. thanks for the info

blackl stick why would you say the luights out is good starter bow?

Black Stick 11-21-2008 04:51 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

Because It is inexpensive and has amazing feel and performance for that price. Any beginner would be more than able to have a successful hunt with it.

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

yeah what bow would you reccommedn next for me? keep in mind im buying a truck in a few months

Black Stick 11-21-2008 05:09 PM

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

That is very tough to recommend only one bow, but if I had to recommend one, it would be the black ice by diamond. It is smooth as silk.

Black Stick 11-21-2008 05:19 PM

Worth every penny.

how much it run for? any other good bows?

RE: whisker biscuit vs. fall away?

I don't think that they changed it very much if at all the past few years, so what I would do is shoot it at your local shop, or bass pro and then buy a used one on ebay. Bass pro is selling it for $650 new, but you could probably get one on ebay for $550 or less. That is the price range of the next level of bow ($500-$650). The Black ice is IMO the best mid range bow on the market. With an 7.5" brace height, it is super forgiving and smooth, but you also get a decently fast IBO of 318 fps, which is 18 fps faster than your lights out's IBO. The brace height on the Lights Out is 8.75 inches, so the transition to the 7.5" brace height of the black ice will not be too difficult. Plus, Mossberghunter93 will be probably die of jealousy.

This is the link to the Diamond Black Ice.

Remember, this is no guarantee that you will like this bow, but If all the mid range bows were on a roulette wheel, I'd put my money on the Black Ice. Check it out.

Thebrace heightis actually, 7.5" not 8.5" on the black ice. My bad.

yeah i would bet that the black ice would be smooth because the justice, and the rock were very smooth when i tested them out. why dont they make the justice anymore?
