Default FPS Goal

I've got a question and figured you all could probably help answer it for me... I'm looking into getting a new bow this year. I will most likely be getting an Alphamax 35, with an IBO of 316... I have a 29"dl and draw 70lbs. Hoyt generally underrates their IBO by approx 7fps +/-. The shop I where I frequent, I heard their Hoyt rep has claim that this new cam can generate IBO speeds regardless of DL. Without getting into that debate, and using standard thought of 10fps loss with each inch of DL below 30". Would I be able to realistically setup a hunting rig with a properly spined, dependable arrow & hit 300fps? I know speed isn't everything. This will be the last bow I get for a very long time, and would very much like to be able to hit that mark with an AM35....

Thanks,
R

I know that there is probably too much emphasis on speed with all the new speed bows coming out blazing fast. 300 is just what I would like to be able to hit consistently and accurately...

Boy, when I break out the chrono, I get alot of long faces at any archeryshoot. You ought to see it. And hoyt shooters are usually just as disappointed or more than anyone else. Its not in hoyts best interest to underrate, and believe me, they do anything but underrate.

I would say PSE and bear are ones who overrate the most. Blowtec is not bad, but still rarely reach thier IBO speeds. I did on my commander and was pleasantly shocked
