I'm new to archery huntingand was trying to get comfortable with the distances I should set the pins on my sight. Just wondering what distances some of you have set your pins. I was thinking of setting at 20, 30 and 40 yards.

That's pretty typical for a 3 pin set-up but remember; just because it's there doesn't mean you have to use it. It's great to practice out to longer ranges but shooting animals is a whole other scenario. Practice at 40 to make the 20 yard shots you should be striving for seem easy.

I agree, mine are 20, 30, 40, and 50. I will never use the 50 yard pin in a hunting situation. I just use it on the range at home. The 40 yard pin probably won't be used either. I hunt in very few places that would give me a clear shot at that distance.
