Simple question? I dont currently use one, but am thinking about getting one tied in on my new string if my bow will adjust down the necessary(sp) 1/2''??

If your release is causing your serving to separate prematurely, then yes they help that tremendously. They have a fcouple other benefits too, they can line your peep when you draw. I don't think there is any negatives to them even though I don't shoot one, I shoot a rope release and it doesn't cause serving slippage. About the 1/2" adjustment, you should be able to get that pretty easy. All in all I don't think there are any negatives to them.

I put one on many years ago and honestly wouldn't
shoot without one now.I have always used a kisser button,
so I anchor to that.The added length of the D-loop didn't actually
change draw length. I always felt the bows shot and tuned better
with the D-loop;I like the release being in a direct line with the arrow.
Once you get used to tying a loop,it just takes a few minutes. I also like the idea of the relaese being on loop instead of string.

You don't have to change your draw when you go to a loop. Your anchor will change.
I can't imagine going back to not using a loop.

Yes. Your anchor(hand position changes).

I know the bow world goes round & round on this, as some say it changes, some say it doesn't.

Looking at it from my perpective, I shot off the string with a kisser. Then I added a loop. I still draw to that same kisser, but my hand had to change for me to do so. A short loop & a short headed hook type release made the change very minor and easy to adjust to.

That's how I reason that the draw length doesn't change. But then again I am not atechnical guru.

Rybo~~ I get the jist of what you are saying. I should still be drawing the same length as it is comfy to but will it change the way I hold the bow? My thinking without changing draw length my bow arm will be either locked down hard or cocked too much and cause string slappage onmy arm??I really am not sure??
Hopefully my string will be done tommorow and I can have him put one on and see how it feels?? If I dont like it, ill have it removed!?!

I guess my peep will have to be moved up the string a good bit as well??

I have always shot a very LOW peep actually most bow techies pick on me because I like my peep not far from my nocking point! I look goofy with my head tilted down into the string, but its whats comfy to me!!
