I've had good luck with Slick Trick standard heads and Blazers @ 277-279 fps.
I also have tuned the Slick Trick 85 with 3'' feathers at 315 fps, hit with my field points at 30 yards.
That's two recent combinations that have worked for me from a paper tuned bow.

Feathers. Real feathers.
I messed with some of the blazers and tried four... and the four fletched arrow didn't fly worth a crap... I could probaby throw one straighter. Three fletched either straight or helical work extremely well, and they are very durable... so if you don't want to mess with real feathers... I'd point you toward Blazers.

My opinion only:
I've tried almost all the vanes out there, and Blazers are the best for me.

I agree 100% with Rev (which is hard to do

). Ive tried all of them and Blazers blow the comp away. Blazers are the most durable and stablize the arrow real well. Ive got arrows that are going on their 4th+ animal. All pass throughs and the vanes are as good as new. I know a lot of people like quick spin, but I simply hate them. They are loud and not durable at all. They will also cause you to lose velocity and cause your arrow to drop more at distances just beyond 20 yards. I cronied arrows with quick spins and compared them to others. Quick spin were by far the slowest. And if you stand down range from the shooter, they are very loud. I feel they are a gimic that was ment to be a quick fix for a poor tuned bow. I would also stay away from the expensive string silencer brand or what ever they are called. Theyare nothing but a gimic. They work just as well as any cheapplastic 4" vane. When I cronied several arrows with different fletching, all were three vane configuration with similartwist. I didquick spins with hylical and without, and both sucked. Here is whatI found;Blazerswere the fastest by far; second were 4" plastic vanes (duravan here as well, duravan was a good durable vane, i liked them); 4"feathers just a bit slower than vanes but not enough to be a concern; then quick spins.
If you go trad, feathers all the way. Turkey feathers are the best. I even use 5" feathers with some of my bows.

I tested the G5 striker 100 grain head with 1 1/8" cut, vanes were offset as far as the Bitz will allow it to gowithout it falling offthe shaft. I was pretty impressed as to what this G5will do. I've only been at it about2 yrs but I shoot quite a bit at least as much as the kids allow.... I took 10 shots each set up at 25, 35 and 45 yds at a standard 5 spot indoor target.I score anything in the whiteX 5 pts, next whitering 4 pts and the blue rings were 3 and 2 pts, a miss was a big fat zero.I personally liked the 4 vane config the best...any of these set ups worked well. I will testthe QS3 and the Max Hunter 3 too soon. The scores are above each picture of the target starting with the blazer 3. I did NOT move my field tip sight at all...I think the max hunter would have done much better, did shoot majority to the right and you have to take pilot error in there too. I will say the Max Hunter is easier to fletch than the blazer or QS.
Blazer 3 25 yds--46pts 35yds--38pts 45yds--38pts

Blazer 4 25yds--45pts 35yds--43pts 45yds--38pts

QS-4 speed hunter 25yds--46 35yds--39 45yds--26pts

Max Hunter 4 25yds--39pts 35yds--38pts 45yds--30pts that's with 3 misses too...

I've tried Quick Spins and Blazers. I've found that with my setup, the quickspins appeared a bit faster and grouped a bit better. Now, with a different setup, realize this might not be the case. Also, I think the quick spins are a bit nicer to look at than the blazers because of the writing on the vanes, this might also have something to do with what "appeared" to be a better performance. I fletch all my arrows with quick spins.
