RE: Bowtech Guardian Unknown Noise
ORIGINAL: Lady Forge but I know it isn't by adding a bolt on the back side of the draw module. I talked to Bowtech, and they recommended adding the bolt to the draw module. It has nothing to do with changing the letoff. Between my Husband and I we personnaly own 5 Bowtech Guardians and play with the letoff on them all the time as well as all the Guardians I sell and work on at the bow shop, and I can say personally that I hate shooting my Guardian at 65 % Letoff [:@]I guess I just got spoiled by the 80%. That bushing that you cut to fit and then heat shrink and add to the screw that you screw into the module willretard the rotationof the cam off the cable just a tad enough to change the letoff thus increasing your holding weight, this is the only recommended way by Bowtech to us their Authorized Bowtech Dealer to ajust the letoff onthe Bowtech Guardians. (*****,The screw by itself will not effect the let off. If the 65%letoff cap is installed, it will eeffect the letoff. The hole the screw is going in is also designed as the attachment hole for the cap.Thanks, John NelsonBowTechCustomer Service Manager) |

RE: Bowtech Guardian Unknown Noise
but I don't think that adding that little home made rubbersleeve around the bolt would constitute as the cap). Thanks for the info;) |
RE: Bowtech Guardian Unknown Noise
What John Nelson e-mailed is correct. There is a pair of molded caps that fit over the ends of the modules which are held on by shoulder socket screws.These caps are to lower the let-off to approx. 65%.
The screws on the inside of the modules shouldnot effect the let-off however it is possible they could. They may however be the cause of an audible clicking noise if they don't have shrick tubing or some type ofvinyl tubing on them. Here is a picture of the let-off caps not installed on modules. ![]() Here are the caps installed on the modules. ![]() And here are the shoulder socket screws on the inside of the modules. This pair has shrink tubing installed on them to help prevent the clicking noise. ![]() Hope this helps clear things up... |

Thanks BowTech Shooter for the pictures and clearing that up.

RE: Bowtech Guardian Unknown Noise
Bowtech Shooter;
Thanks for posting the info and the pic's its nice to get some clarity on the subject. Playing with the screws and the # and thickness of shrink bushing has altered the letoff for us, but it would have been so much easier with your above posted Caps. Now I will have to wonder why they have been telling us another thing????[&:] Guess that Phone call to Bowtech is seriously needed!! |
