RE: Bowtech Guardian Unknown Noise
No. I checked those and left them just barely snug tight. The cable was very worn where it contacted the draw stop so I added about 0.5" of serving and it silenced the noise. The bow is eventually going to a friend and he will need cables/strings before long. It shoots great though.

RE: Bowtech Guardian Unknown Noise
Ive had this problem with a few customers in my shop When you over draw the guardian you will hear that tick noise caused by pulling the cable passed the stops( they roll aroud the edge of those stops) Byscrewing those screws with the Rubber Bushing cut to fit in the threaded holes you will change the Guardian to a 65% letoff.

Lady Forge, is this not better than having the cables roll past the stops? Does your shophave any other alternatives for this problem? |
RE: Bowtech Guardian Unknown Noise
My cables were not pulling past the stops. The cables were worn and polished to the point it made a slight slapping noise when it contacted the draw stop. The extra, single layer of serving basically returrned the serving to its original dimension and thus has not affected let off. This would seem more desirable than adding a bushing to the draw stop.

RE: Bowtech Guardian Unknown Noise
I've never seen what makes the Bowtech bows 65% letoff, but I know it isn't by adding a bolt on the back side of the draw module. I talked to Bowtech, and they recommended adding the bolt to the draw module. It has nothing to do with changing the letoff. It only extends and gives more surface area for the cables. Pretty much a little more peace of mind that the cable isn't going to slip past, that is it.

Between my Husband and I we personnaly own 5 Bowtech Guardians and play with the letoff on them all the time as well as all the Guardians I sell and work on at the bow shop, and I can say personally that I hate shooting my Guardian at 65 % Letoff [:@]I guess I just got spoiled by the 80%. That bushing that you cut to fit and then heat shrink and add to the screw that you screw into the module willretard the rotationof the cam off the cable just a tad enough to change the letoff thus increasing your holding weight, this is the only recommended way by Bowtech to us their Authorized Bowtech Dealer to ajust the letoff onthe Bowtech Guardians. |
