I think someone has too much time on their hands |
RE: My First Crest Job
It' s OK, real men can use pink, David Mill told me so!:D
the colors come right out of the drawing progam used. A 6 inch long wrap 1 and 1/4 inches wide weights 13.8 grains using the bumper sticker paper. At least mine do. ;) Rack I think they look good.... go tear up those spots... |
RE: My First Crest Job
Rack; Thanks for sharing the photos with us. What a great Idea. I would of never thought of doing crest on the printer. Way to go!!!! ;) I have found that the color ink in my printer will run if the paper gets wet, is there a special color ink that you used? Are your crests water proof? Did you have to use any other adhesive to appy the bumper sticker material to the arrow or was the sticker material sufficiant to stick to the arrow?
I would shoot them PINK and all;) The guys tell me I shoot like a girl all the time anyways[:-] |
RE: My First Crest Job
UpNorth- I am using a HP 2110 inket Printer. I do not clean the crest before I glue. That goat-tuff seems to sink into the wrap and really hold well -(disclaimer - I han' t shot them yet so they may all fall off on my first leg:D)
reylamb - that alot of wraps there[:o][:-] It' s OK, real men can use pink, David Mill told me so! Lady - I use regular ink, and the Matte vinyl bumper sticker paper is water " resistant" . I am going to spray them a clear laminant made for inkjet photos that is supposed to greatly increase durability and water proofing. The self adhesive on the sticker seems sufficiant. FWIW - I made up some much less " lady-like" wraps last night that really came out great.....but imagestation is down. I hope it did not go the way of Hunting-Pictures.com. When,if, it comes back up I will show you guys my more manly side:D:D |
RE: My First Crest Job

RE: My First Crest Job
Lady,
If you do a search on crest wraps (can' t remember which forum) I posted this info last year sometime. Then again, the info may not be in the archives any longer, so go here to see what I did: http://www.woodystaxidermy.com/forum...ht=crest+wraps http://167.206.135.118/cgi-bin/ultim...c&f=1&t=002677 I used the bumper sticker paper and they adhere well, and as ong as you allow the ink to dry they are fairly waterproof. |

RE: New " Non-Pink" Crest
Those are awesome! Jeeze if my husband sees yours I can see it now he will have me on this puter all day making them for him, he has just got his first wraps on his arrows ( A/C Kinetics II with Photo Fusion Camo, that I got him for Valentines Day). I wasnt able to find a big selection of colors or designs on the market, they all seemed just kindof generic ,Ho Hum looking, not like yours, but I guess you solved that problem. Hey thanks for the info and the link, I appreciate it.:)

RE: New " Non-Pink" Crest
As I have never used the wraps before....I have a quick question. Do you just overlap the edges when you wrap them or do you cut them??
I might have to look into these!! |
