Default Getting Inserts out of Arrows?

Is there any way to get inserts out of carbon arrows that have been glued in with epoxy? Thanks

IMHO it will damage the carbon trying to remove them. Not worth the risk to me.

While I do agree, removing inserts out of carbon arrows can cause damage. They can be removed but, inspect and reinspect in if you try this. I take a piece of carbide with chamfered ends, about 3" long, about .025 smaller than the I.D. of the shaft. Insert it at the nock end, make sure you have a safe place to do this, whip the shaft in a downward motion to make the carbide hit the back of the insert. Should pop right out. I do it in a box with a towel on the bottom.

Cut, your arrows down and reinsert.

If you have an insert removal tool you can heat the tool, not the carbon but you need to be very specific with the heat as heat will damage carbon. Heating the tool should heat the insert (aluminum) and allow you to pull the insert out. You will need to be pulling as it is being heated so it pulls immediately when ready and excess heat isn't applied to the carbon. Keep the flame away from the end of the arrow as carbon/glue used to keep carbon wrap together will ignite.

Inspect and reinspect as noted above.
