I am shooting a tomkat and I'm going to upgrade all the way to a general or a 82nd.
If I measure my DL, should this be done by drawing back my tomkat with release and D- loop ?And using one of those measuring arrows ?
Or should I try and draw a similar barebow to determine my DL ?

You already have a bow that is all set up and fits you well and you don't know what your draw length is?

Special Note: conversion from cm to inches is length in cm/2.54.

edit: ps) If you give us the module number off the TomKat we can tell you what the draw length is; should be something like ESM 2.5 or EFA 2.

Like Kodiak is asking just list your CAM markings. I know you told me one time a early last year.

If you want to find out with an arrow draw back and have someone mark an arrow at the throat of the grip (where the grip turns in the furtherest). Then measure the arrow from nock to the mark and add 1.75" or 4.445 cm.

Go to a pro shop...they will help you...Shoot bows of different draw lengths to see what is comfortable....Use the set up you plan to use: loop, release, set anchor point as it applies to make the best indetermination.

Frank, Are you thinking the draw length on your TomKat may not be correct? If you measure your wing span then divide by 2.5 that gives you a good starting place. If you need to fine tune the General and 82 are both module adjustable. That really makes it great for fine tuning a draw length.

What your draw length measures on YOU and exactly what it measures on the bow is very frequently different. I have measured folks at 28" only to find that they need a 30" (listed) draw in X brand of bow. Just like shoes seem to run tight or large in different brands, bows seem to be the same. I asked, and subsequently learned, on a thread about a year ago that there is no set industry standard for taking draw length on a bow. All you can do is get measured and fool with it a bit until it fits you. Thats where pro bow techs make their dollar.

ok, thisis what I thought myself, I will list the mod specs and take my tomkat to the shop where I will buy my new bow....

I asked because ordering a bow from the US would be cheaper than buying it over here, even with taxes and shippingcosts.

You didn't list them buddy. I think before you told me they read ESM 3.5, is this correct?This would be 28.5". As you go up in number from there the draw length will get shorter. i.e. 4 is 28" and 3 is 29"
