My arrows seem to dive at closer distances. Almost looks like im shootingwhile elevated. What am I supposed to be looking for?

Do you mean when they are stuck in the target they are not perpendicular to the target face.... as if you'd shot them from an elevated position?

I hate to sound like a ball buster, but if you have a need to ask about something this basic then you should probably find and attain the services of a local pro-shop.

Or if you are standing up and you have a block/bag target set on the ground then... you are infact elevated....

Let me give you some more information. Yes my arrows seem to be at more of an angle when in the target than they should be. My nock is right. I have made sure the arrow sits level in the rest. I am using a two prong rest. And to answer bg fisher, Sorry we wernt all born full of archery know how. I am trying to learnas I go. I have gone over the basics and I thought I could obtain some more knowledgehere on hunting net. If You haveno infothat is helpful in me understanding more about what may be happeningplease just dont post.

Huntoholic , I guess BG has his panties in a wad or something. BG , people come here looking for information not to be harassed by you . Did you always know everything right away , doubtful . Huntoholic , what type of backstop are you shooting into, sometimes the backstop itself will make the arrow look like that. At our club we shoot into celotex and the arrows look like they are going in at odd angles because of the material. Could something like this be what is causing your arrows to look like that?

Whoa, I apologize if I was misinterpretted. I meant no harm in my comment. Maybe apicture would have helped, but all I meant to say was that some hands-on help and first hand eyeballing would probably be better suited to give you help.

I realize that you are trying to learn and that's a good thing. Just that on internet forums you can get so many differing opinions that you can become more confused about your particular situation. This just seems like one of those problems that needs to be seen to tell what's going on.

Believe me I had good intentions. To that end I still think I gave you good advice.

I beg to differ. I think what BG said was totally appropriate. His comment that he "hated to sound like a ball buster" was a preamble of sorts to appologise for how that comment was going to come out. No matter who you are, when someone recommends you leave it to a pro, it sort of sounds condiscending. I don't think BG was out of line at all.

It is true that technical advice is very difficult to give via the internet. Pictures are worth 1000 words. Nobody expects anyone to be born full of archery knowledge. I am a professional bow tech and there is still seldom a day where I don't learn something new, and I've been at it a while.

I promise you that I could sit here and type until the sun rises tomorrow, but if I had 20 minutes with you in person I could teach you more in that 20 minutes than I could in 10 hours worth of typing. So going to pro shop and asking much the same question as on here is not bad or inappropiate advice at all. Sorry it wasn't what you wanted to hear.
