Yoo Hoo... Oh PINwheel... Diamond question

When you visited the Diamond booth at the show, how hard were they pushing their "replace the module to effect force draw curve characteristics" system? Did you get a chance to draw each of these modules (two a regular single cam fdc (65% and 80% let off), one a dual cam fdc and one an energy wheel fdc.
If so, what were your initial opinions of how much the draw cycle was affected by the different modules?
If not, are the bows you have coming in going to have the different modules with them for you to try out?

And another question...
If I recall correctly- someone from the ATA show said the diamond bows had a new cam for the machete. If so- do all their bows ssport this new cam? Or only the 2003's?
Where, o-where is the new diamond website??????

All 2003 bows will have the new cam. The new cam is not really that much different. Main goal was to improve nock travel and tuning on the longer A to A bows. The only bow I have drawn with the new cam was a Hornet and it did feel a little smoother to me. I forgot to ask if the E and C modules were offered on the new cam, but notice they are not shown in the 2003 brochure. The new cam will have 1/2" draw modules available and the idlers now have sealed ball bearings. Stabilizer mount have stainless steel inserts. I would not look for the website to be updated real soon. Josh and Gary don't put a lot of emphasis on the internet.

Typical Buck
8pt summed it up well. I have a full range of mods coming for the bows, and I'll be running the Machete in particular through testing as it is what the company feels will be it's best seller in 2003. The Invader is nice too, straight riser and 34". The draw seemed smooth, I hadn't drawn a Diamond in awhile so really cannot be a good judge there as to whether or not it is all that different, but the nock travel is supposed to be heaps better, never a bad thing with a conventional solo! They were not pushing anything really, except the bows themselves.
Maybe we'll see a hybrid, or at least some twins from them soon, it would help them greatly IMHO. I'll post more when I get to play with them some, around the middle of March. (they are not due here till March 1 or so) Good shooting, Pinwheel 12

If the new cams have 1/2" draw modules, are they draw length adjustable beyond the module? With different post to rest the strings on for a slightly different draw lenght, or a sliding draw lenght like the bowtechs?
Do the new cams sport any higher IBO rating than the 2002's for the same bow (hornet/ doa)?
Why the invader over the doa? seem kinda close on paper to me.

Here's a little side note humor provide by my local yahoo diamond/ high country dealer-
Phone call from me- " Hello, do you have the new 2003 diamond brochure in yet?"
answer- "No, but I have the high country catalog in"
Me- "O.K. thanks"
He- "You don't want a highcountry?"
me- "not really"
he- "they have a new one shooting over 400 fps!!"
me- "ya, but thats not at ibo specs, I believe it's shooting some sub 5 grain per pound arrow"
he- "ibo specs, 5 grains per inch"
me-" no that's supposed to be 5 grains per pound of draw weight"
he- "nught uh, 5 grains per inch"
me- " no thank you anyway, goodby"
eeerrrggghhh!!!
Makes the the bowtech blackhawk look better everyday (different dealer).

Should have known my phone call post would be a thread killer. But somebody out there has to think it' s funny besides me.
Anyhow, no answers on the previous post questions?
Someone has got to have the new brochure with the answers. Maybe I' ll call or e-mail them and request one.

Dave C, There are no posts etc. to adjust between 1/2" increments. You should be able to get those fine adjustments with string and cable twists. IBO ratings with the new cams are pretty much the same as last years. That phone call certainly is humorus. Just goes to show that some " Pro Shops" spend too much time reading ads and not enough learning archery. [:' (]

I read your post, and could relate. Unfortunately true Pro Shops seem to be few and far between...
