What do you all think of this fletcher?
I am going to start doing my own arrow maintenance and hope you guys can keep me from wasting money on stuff that through your experience have found to be useless. I am not looking for the best there is, nor am I looking at doing this for money, I just want to be able to refletch, renock, and replace inserts as needed for myself.

Taz,
I have one and am not real happy with it. Biggest problem I ran into is that I have had no luck replacing single vanes. I havent spent alot of time with it though due to getting frustrated. At one time I had a Grayling jig/clamp and was happier with that. Just my opinion.

I'm very impressed with my Arizona EZ fletch. If you put the initial vanes on with it, singles after that are easy because everything naturally lines up. Great tool! <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>
I kill it, I grill it.

I have had mine now for about 12 months and it works just fine.
I can replace 1,2 or all 3 vains if needed.
About the only draw back is the locking collar it is easy to loose.
I will add that they are cheaper from Basspro and Cabelas

First thanks for the replies, they kind of contradict each other, but perhaps a question of woody would clarify things.
Woody when you were just doing a single vane had you put them all on with the Arizona EZ fletch and were just replacing one?

Dont remember for sure. I got it as a gift and messed around with it a couple of times. I did try doing all three on a few and wasnt real satisfied with the result. I then tried replacing single vanes on ones that I didnt do and it didnt work. I put it away after that and never got it out again.
After seeing the other replies I am thinking I may have put it away too soon. I think I will be unburying it and giving it a second chance.

AHHHHH!!! Woody, now I am confused!!! LOL Of course as I age I get that way easy! It looks easy, but just because it looks easy doesn't make it good. Oh well I am not going to buy one today so please let me know if you try it again and what kind of results you get. Thanks.

The ez fletch is ok....but not your best option. Either a jo-jan or bitzenburger are much better. I'd reccomend spending a little more, and get something better.

WV Hunter I had looked at both of those and came across the Arizona EZ fletch, from the looks of it, it appears it would be easier to line everything up. I have never even seen an arrow fltched, so I have no idea. I would like to see if there is any other input on these. If the quality of the fletching job is inadequate I will go with one of the ones you reccomend.
