Default what clamp ?

I,m going to be getting a bitz jig and was wondering which clamp I should get for an off-set. Can you go with a straight clamp and the adjustments are there to do it or go with a helical clamp. I'm fletching with blazers.I forgot to mention I am using a wb for a rest if that makes a difference.

Yes, get the straight clamp. The jig has the adjustment knobs on it so you can set your offset. The helical clamp would probably not be a good idea because the vane (especially blazers) would not be able to fully contact the shaft. You can get enough helical with only the staight clamp.

BTW: Good choice choosing the Bitz

You can't get any helical with a straight clamp. It gives a straight fletch with offset. He needs a helical clamp to get any twist to the fletch.

I highly recommend the helical clamp, especially if you're going to shoot feathers. The biggest concern is whether the fletching will clear the rest one is using. This is less of a concern with feathers, and not a concern at all with a rest like the wisker biscuit. Most fletch lengths will seat properly by adjusting the offset on the helical clamp.
