Broadhead Tuning ?
#1
OK, tonite was the first time that I have shot broadheads out of my bow since I had a new rest put on it last week. I am shooting a Hoyt Trykon, 29" DL, 66lbs, Easton Axis 340s, Muzzy MX-4s, and also shooting it with Carbon express 4560 shafts.
The Carbon Express shafts are noticably lighter than the Axis', they shoot about 3" higher at all my pins (out to 60 yards), but both shafts are dead on right/left at every distance.
I shot the MX-4s tonite at 20 yards and they were grouping about 4" high with the Carbon Express shafts, and 4-6" left, in a real tight group (never shot more than one at a time but they went in the same hole every shot). The Axis shafts were right on for height, and about 7" left.
According to the easton chart, I have a few options. Increase my poundage, move my rest to the right 1/32", or increase broadhead weight.
Last season I never had a problem with my bow shooting broadheads, they hit the same as my field points. What do all you guys think I should try first? I'm not real sure about moving my rest, since the bow is shooting perfect with fieldpoints.
Help...
